man i hate to burst your bubble, but... those engines have been around for years... its like the boxer engines in subies and rotaries... yeah they may be more efficient but they are not COST efficient to the automotive manufacturer.
or you can get the special tool designed for pulling honda crankshaft pulleys. i have one and using it plus 2 breaker bars i got mine off in no time.
here is one type...
"Eagle Rods are one of the most affordable rods on the market. For most peoples' needs, an Eagle Rod will do more than what they require. Most people building an engine arent going for 1000hp. It would be a waste of money to pay double the price on a big strong rod that isnt neccessary. Eagle...
ok, let me try to rephrase this... i dont have a y8 head on my engine, apparently that sentance got left out. my bad. the reason i was asking if a y8 cam would fit in a y7 head is because there isnt any aftermarket cams for the y7, but there is for the y8. i dont want to do a mini-me on this...
ok, so i am reading a lot of good things in other forums about DeltaCams for d16y7 because there aren't any billet cams for my engine. anyone know anything about them?
its only a large increase in power if i hook up vtec, and i dont want to. im trying to avoid removing the head, again. i already have a skunk2 intake manifold, so i think the y8 would be a decrease in power.
ok, so i pulled the engine out of my civic finally to replace the clutch and flywheel and a few other issues that needed to be resolved. Anyways, i have decided that since i already have the motor out of the car i might as well throw some new mods at it, right? Right. i've been researching...
i've already started on my winter project. pulled the engine out of the civic 2 nights ago and have it scattered throughout the garage and house (much to the wifes dismay). went yesterday and bought an air compressor (much to the neighbors dismay). trying to research which camshaft to get. im...
just a little bit of quick input for ya. i have a skunk2 intake manifold on my civic and absolutely love the little bastard. pretty good difference for me, but i also have a d16y7 that had that crappy little top mount throttle body. i still give the skunk2 a good rating tho.
i believe it came off of a 300zx but i dont know the year or anything else. i got it from a guy i worked with for free. it was a warranty job that required the replacement of both turbos but only 1 was actually bad, he kept the good one and eventually gave it to me.
and I cannot seem to figure out if this turbo is a t22, t25, or a t28. all i know about it is it came off of a nissan, and it has a 4-bolt downpipe flange. its got lots of numbers on it and i have tried to google the shit out of it but i can't make heads nor tails of half of what i find.
