    b7 block with y8 head

use a z6 head instead along with z6 timing belt and dizzy, get a chipped p28 and y8 head gasket then bring all that shit to somebody else to do or you just keep clicking that search button. its a very easy way to gain HP if you just keep it simple. pretty much all your doing is swapping heads...

    d16y7 to d16z6?

so whats all gogin to be needed to change? think its just the IACV. and it you use your p28 then it will throw a IACV code because its a needed change when running OBD1. changing the plug will take about 5 minutes if you have never used a set of wire crimpers and electrical tape, might as well...

    d16y7 to d16z6?

yeah im sure you can but why? if you have the z6 motor you should just use that IM

    d16y7 to d16z6?

its pretty much the normal way to do it since the obd1 harness wont go into a obd2 car since there is no plug at the shock tower. there is a nice diagram in the ECU pinout thread about where vtec wires are on the conversion harness and how to do the iacv convert. good luck man and post up if you...

    d16y7 to d16z6?

should be a 2 wire IACV glug instead of the 3 wire on the y7. really shouldn't be that hard if you just start plugging the sensors up and once you see one that doesn't fit just swap plugs.

    d16y7 to d16z6?

    JB weld on oil pan

get some PB blaster to loosen up rusted bolts, should make it alot easier. i have used jb weld on an oil pan of mine when putting in a oil return line, worked fine but if you can i would weld the crack instead of JB'ing it. just call your local welding shop and see how much they would charge...

    Automatic Transmission TUNING?!

so your saying that pro drag honda's use auto tranny's? name one

    d16z6 or d16y8

yeah you can, its just a pain in the ass and should be done on the dyno with a det can or stethescope so you can listen for knock. thats what makes it suck a pain and the z6 a better motor, easier to tune.

    Automatic Transmission TUNING?!

duh everybody knows all you have to do is get a short shifter, hence the name.............. no im joking, best route would be ex auto tranny and deal with it.

i see where your coming from on that thought because thats what i thought at first, but thats what the 8 pages were for on pgmfi.org. it is so much more complicated then i understand. i tuned my old car that was a turboed y8 and then sold it before the rest of the theorys came out. but from my...

    d16z6 or d16y8

they were using crome which is in my eyes the best ROM editor. yeah the MAP sets limitaions on tunign boost but nothing else, so thats not even an issue in the discussion. people swap to obd1 so they can actually tune it without haveing to buy a $1500 stand alone unit like AEM. just because...

    d16z6 or d16y8

lol, im not the only person to ever have issues when tuning the y8 motor on the actual p2p map. there was an 8 page topic on this exact subject on pgmfi.org, 4 page topic on homemadeturbo then joseph davis actually took a y8 turbo setup on the dyno with a det can and tuned it then posted his...

    d16z6 or d16y8

once you start doing stuff to it and need it tuned or need to run a chipped ecu you will realize that the motor has timing issues. thing is its way too dependant on input from the knock sensor and the ecu corrects timing accordingly, where the z6 isn't.
