the z6 is an obd1 engine vs. you obd0 setup....I would use the z6 harness, ecu and motor and just get a obd conversion harness to run between the ecu and the chassis. also you can leave the vtec "off" but why?
looking for a set to buy or borrow...I bought a set of Flex a while back fro my hatch and no wrenches were included..I would really like to get these on this weekend...anyone???
you need a Hydro Tranny (anything 94 and up in b series) and you need to swap the OBD from 0 to 1(including ECU)..axles are different spline style so different axles and different engine mounts
does anyone have some good websites for OEM toyota parts? My buddy has been slowly building his 97 Tacoma, and we are sick of going to the dealer..I know there has to be some decent ones out there. TIA:huh:

I agree...if you really want to stay with that head..get it done right or you are pretty much wasting your time with aftermarket parts until you open that thing up to get more air flow
b18a1 is OBD 0, has about 10 less HP than the b (slightly different cams)....other than that there are pretty much identical
the only other thing is wear and tear..a 90 B18b1 is going to have many more miles and use than say a 99 b18b1...something to consider..I do!
the GSR IM is going to kill you...go aftermarket..that is the weakest part of this setup, other than that, you are on the right track....I would also suggest using ARP rod bolts....for $45, its cheap insurance for one of the weakest points on a stock LS bottom end.
welcome....alot of great info on this site ( better than almost all)...but make sure you search for commom stuff before you ask questions...almost everything can be answered just by reading through the different forums
