    Completely Frustrated

hmm.... Just another reason why a JDM engine harness should NOT be adapted to US vehicles - weird dimming phenomenons. I suggest you use your DX engine harness and wire in VTEC & the Knock Sensor (KS) to it. Perhaps this will eliminate those pesky dimming problems you're having. You just might...

Swapping B16A2 into '92 EG - Needs advice! Help!

asin, Is your D15B vtec or a non-vtec engine? and if its non-vtec, is it a 12-valve engine? I'm just curious, because if your motor is equivilent to our (US) 92-95 DX engine, you don't need to worry about converting to a 4-wire 02 sensor. And if it has VTEC you don't need to worry about wiring...

    Hydraulic compared to cable?

When going B-series, you really do not want to put a cable tranny in any 92+ civic. Not only is it ghetto, but you have to spend extra$$ on a tranny mount that Hasport sells in order to allow fitmen of the cable tranny (its not a direct bolt like a hydro tranny is). As mentioned already, all...

    D16Z6 swap q's

yes, your DX plugs have empty pinouts for the VTEC & knock sensor components.

    I'M DESPERATE

it sounds like you need to bleed your coolant system. Whenever air is trapped in your coolant system, your temp needle will rise and you'll get funky idle fluctuations. open up the bleeder screw thats on the water neck of the head to bleed the air out..

    P73 ECU

what year is you car? btw, if that P73 you have is US spec, there's no such thing as a US '99 P73 ecu. Acura stopped production on Type-R's in 1999.

    Ecu chiiping on a P08

#1) P08 is out of a JDM EG-4/VTi civic ...equivilent to our P28 ecu. #2) I can't agree with you more! Prime example of why "EBAY CHIPS" are scanless.

    D16Z6 swap q's

Well, the easiest thing to do for wiring in vtec is to find a set of donor OBD1 plugs and unpin a couple of the pins (make sure they have a good couple inches of wiring behind them), then cut & splice longer wiring to them so they'll reach the VTEC solenoid & pressure switch, then insert the...

    KNOCK SENSOR

yes, this ecu WILL look for a KS. All 92-95 SOHC & SOHC VTEC engines do NOT have a KS. All 96-01 EX engines DO have a KS; All non-vtec SOHC engines do NOT have KS's.

    D16Z6 swap q's

1992 civics are special. If know for sure that you car is a 1992 model (any model), it is pre-wired for VTEC already. All you need to do is apply an EX or Si engine harness & a VTEC ecu to your vehicle to take advantage of this 'plug n play' gift. If your car is a 93-95 non-vtec model, it is...

    confusing swap!!!

US OBD2a + OBD2b integra engine harnesses are the same, in regards to wire layout. But, from the cabin wiring out to the shocktower plug, as B16 mentioned, its different between OBD2a & obd2b. I'm betting the reason for code 1 is because all VX's use a 5-wire 02 sensor. There's a fix for it...

Ex intake and TB on DX

yes, this is possible to do. You would need to get a 96+ EX intake manifold (I/M) off an AUTO model though. Reasonbeing is the auto version of the EX I/M uses a 3-wire IACV which is what you need to use to satisfy your DX ecu. 5speed EX I/M use a 2-wire IACV which your DX ecu would NOT like at...

    96 civic swap

LOL... Bottomline fact is... if you plan to make your car 'smog legal' or "bar'd" you have to abide by the engine swapping rules: - engine + ecu has to be of US spec (in some areas this can vary) - engine + ecu + OBD type needs to either match the year of the car the motor is being put into...

    valve adjustment...my GSR swap

I suggest you read your manual or do a search on a "how to" for valve adjustments. But you will definitely need a 'vtec valve adjusting tool' that snap-on/bluepoint sells. Its about $40 for it. intake valve lash specs: .006 exhaust valve lash specs: .008
