Planning on doing a d15 build up here but need to know what ecu to use.
THE BUILD!
D15 DX longblock
High Comp Head Gasket
VX (or ZC pistons would be even better) pistons
CRX Si (a6) camshaft @ 4.75 zero'd out
Civic Si (D16Z6) Intake Manifold
PimpAss Bisimoto Header
Now the question is CAN i use...
what kind of vibrations? you mean wheel-hop or just within the engine bay? Your biggest problem will be traction with that killer h22, but with the engine moving around much, not gunna happen. Those are proably urethene and are like a rock compared to the stock rubber ones. <_<
Well that's kinda judging a book by the cover now isn't it? So the pipes bend a little wierd, big woop. Sometimes power isn't pretty :) I guess you could settle for the DC but i mean come on! The sheer 'wow factor' would be worth the price. I know i'm getting one for my little d-baby as...
To be safe, i would say don't buy the B7. Like you mentioned, the B7 is OBD1 and your friend's got an OBD2...wiring would be near impossible (check out 'the differences between OBD1 and OBD2 in the tech section on this site). You can however swap the intake and exhaust manifolds. :( This is a...
Bisi's got the fastest ALL MOTOR D-Series on the tracks, he uses this header. I would too. They also make one for the B-series. This or Toda would be THE BEST choice! I don't know about you but i like products that prove their worth on the track. Toda has the Ericks' Racing Civic Coupe (Fastest...
THINK, THINK it can be done. It's a d-series so it will bolt up but there may be clearance issues between the top of the piston and your head. Probably around a 11.9:1 compression ratio so you may have so trouble with detonation and timing. Check with the big boys at Alternative Honda...
The only thing i know of that is interchangable are SOME sensors, like on the intake manifold and the throttle body, but i'm pretty sure the tb is smaller on the d15 so it's like why bother when you get a bigger one with the b-series. If your gunna swap in a b-series (and give up hope on your...
did it say what year the "sohc zc vtec" was from? help as a reference point. Sounds ALOT like it's just a Z6 and if it is, you would have just built yourself a stock z6 (sigh). If it's a D15B vtec that would be different but not ZC material so i'm not sure. Gotta be a 1.6L though to be called a...
Well....
B18A1:
'90-93 Integra LS, RS, & GS
'90-'92 had 130 hp with the GS carrying more torque
the engine was reworked in '92 (ta dah the B18B1) and produced 142hp.
B18B1:
'92-'99 Integra LS, RS, GS
There you have it B)
No, i wouldn't do it, like Jeef said: Too much work just to say your "DOHC"
Don't be so quick to throw away what you got there though! The d16a6 is probably one of the best engines honda ever made. (please don't post to that, i'm sure your b16 is good too. <_< ) It has one of the meanest profile...
just recently picked up a nice d16a6 head that i'm planning on putting on my '92 cx. What kind of distributor is needed for the head? Do i use the Si one or could i use one from a z6? I guess what i want to know is will the wiring be straight forward and all i need to do is swap out the ecu? The...
