>congrats you are only the 2354763th person to put an h22 into an accord. i put one in mine 3 years ago whoop ti <
Can you say "What a dick?"
Thanks for posting the pix as there can never be enough references for those that are still in the process. You obviously opted for the bottom method...
Your 96 does not currently have an h22 in it, right? So. You put the h22 in it (with the associated wiring & other changes well documented) along with the h22 ecu. If your h22 comes with auto trans, you put in the P19 h22 auto trans tcu. If you're using your Accord auto trans, leave your tcu...
If you want your tranny to shift at the proper points for the h22 power band, you need the h22 auto trans and the h22 tcu (P19).
If you're sticking it in a 3 gen you may have OBD issues; make sure you check on this .

Turns out that GY's Gatorback has the wrong belt listed for h22 application. I bought another replacement belt from NAPA and the pitch, shape, and size were correct. It's 155 tooth which is VERY (virtually impossible by one person) hard to fit on. My NAPA guy has a couple of 159 tooth belts I'll...
Well, it now appears even the USDM h22a1 belts wont fit the JDM h22a. I just bought the correct Goodyear belt (Gatorback 40216) for a 95 Prelude VTEC and the teeth are too deep and too widely spaced. Length a little short too at 127 teeth.
Bob:confused:
The OEM h22a belt is 49.25" long (155 teeth). After the manual timing belt tensioner mod is accomplished, the belt needs to be a little longer. 156 teeth?
Some have forced the OEM length on but have had whining after startup. The H23 belt (from which the manual tensioner mod was stolen)...
somebody assure me that this bolt is conventionally threaded. someone posted the torque value then talked about engine motion making it tighter. the flywheel turns counter clockwise when looking at it so engine motion would loosen it if anything. torque value around 168 ft# on my h22a
tks...
Breaking down the H22A I got for my Accord swap to have a look at things. Pictured is the intake side of the engine. I considered doing a little porting while I was in here but there definitely doesn't seem to be any room between the gasket (still installed) and the intake walls. JDMs factory...
my h22's coming with a lsd AT. Did you have all the probs these other guys are having with tcus? Remember which tcu you had in there?
I'll look for your swap guide.
Tks,
I've emailed hmotorsonline twice. One said they don't sell a certain part I wanted (head) the other said they were sure if they sold complete "swap" engines or not. Price sounds steep too when I've been looking at a reputable place that will sell an h22/auto/lsd shipped for ~1800.
I've been researching stuff to do to the H22 prior to the swap to my 93 Accord. I've invited input regarding what I should do if I wanted to add a turbo down the road. I also know about the chain tensioner fix.
I'll check the compression.
Does anyone have a procedure to check the sensors...
So? What ever happened. I'm ordering an H22 OBD I with the AT(LSD) attached and sure don't want to have to dick with all this crap.
The world wonders...
I really can't think of a section that this subject would fit in better. If "the man" can, he can move it.
I have a pretty good offer of a h22 swap engine/trans for my 93 Accord Wagon. I just want to know if anyone's heard/done business with
jdmracingmotors.com
They sell on ebay but...
I'm going to swap an H22 into my Accord soon but I think I need a new fuel pump now. I believe it is a 190lph pump. Does anyone know if the H22 takes a different max flow rate? I can get a 255lph pump for 2 bucks more, will the regulator regulate this flow? Just thinking I might make mods...
