ok, but the thing i still don't understand is he got off the line first, therefore, why wouldn't my margin of win be like .612 as if we had got off the line at the same time instead of it being .388

recently I ran my car at the track and i ran a 14.6 against a 5.0 mustang's 15.1 but when i looked at the bottom of the time slip, it says i won by .388 ---- I looked at the reaction times and the mustang had a .225 while i had a .337 ----- so i assume that is the difference between my 1/4 mile...
