is the map sensor on the throttle body? you need to move it off the firewall to the TB. i was having the same problem as you are until i got a tb with the map sensor on it and it started right up.
you need to ground the other wire in the pressure switch and hopefully that will do it. i know what you are goin through. ive been workin on my z6 swap for a couple months now
yeah i closed the circuit on the plug but didnt do anything. no light show in the dash or anything. right now the tps is at .42v. it seems like if i go any higher then the engine revs up.
ok i traced the problem down to the tps. the voltage was at like .65 or somethin so i took it down to .35 and would fluctuate. i was kinda glad cause i knew that it was somethin simple. so then i took it up to .4v and it revved high again. i know for a z6 the tps should be at .45v. anything else...
i dont have the purge cut solenoid on my intake. would that be the problem cause the throttle body is not sticking and i loosed up the throttle cable and how would i check ecu codes?
on the tps the colors should be yellow, red, green. should look somethin like this
TPS GREEN----YELLOW
PLUG RED-------RED
YELLOW--GREEN
i dont think i have a pic of that other ground right now but its a set of either 2 to 4 wires that have a hoop on the engine wire...
did you ground the wire by the thermostat housing? there should be a hooped set of wires on the engine wire harness near the housing. you need to switch the outside wires on the tps plug. the only one that stays the same is the middle wire which i believe is the red one.
i just finished my swap and it finally turned over but it idles at like 5500 rpms!!! i dont know whats up. my setup right now is a p28 with a vafc. any suggestions?
ok i did like you suggested. i went ahead and got the IM, TB, and fuel rail that came with the z6 so hopefully it will all work out. ill take some pics and keep you posted.
you dont have to use the si tranny but it has better gears for vtec but thats totally up to you and your budget. but is your car a dual point? if so then you need to convert it to mpfi. its just a matter of makin a few changes on your engine harness and at the ecu pinout. i did it myself and its...
heres what you are goin to need. i just finished doin the exact same swap. the motor is the d16z6. a very good motor!! your car is obd0. its best to switch to obd1. if your motor is complete with distributor and injectors then that makes it a little easier.
5 speed cable tranny- you can get...
hey man thanks for the info! i called boomslang and told them my situation. well since i got that vafc obd1 harness it doesnt need a wire to the pressure switch cause the vafc intercepts that. i was relieved!
ok i see. ok well i got my boomslang harness today and when i went to hook it up i noticed that the wire to my vtec pressure switch is missing?!! would i just have to run a wire straight to the ecu pin?
