Also if your speed senor is not pluged into your transmisson your vtec will not enguage ...that was my problem. Also the thing with your distributor if your rpm gauge is erratic at times then you wont be getting vtec cause of the distributor....but more than likely your vtec solenoid needs...

I have also been down your road all the ecu's. I have a 2000 si and its seems that the 99-00 civics are an OBD2b pt2 ecu where as the other years 96-98 are OBD2a the only difference is the ecu plugs. You can buy a harness to make it work from skunk 2 or www.jkobdconversionharness.com

I have a 2000 si with the apex-i n1 exhaust. I love it. The power band is more for top end and you might lose a little low end but other than that I love the exhaust. I love the gains, sound, and true jdm pride. It also sounds wonderfull with a turbo.hehehe

Hey my girlfriend has a 97 prelude sh and she is experianceing some funky noise coming from either her tranny or her atts unit. It sounds like a gear issue of some kind. It only occurs when she starts off in first gear or reverse. It's not a loud noise ...but yet its lets you know the noise...

same thing happened to me, but my rings where fine cylinders 1 and 2 had 25-30 compression :( we got the pistons out and the ring lands where cracked...white smoke came out the crank breather and everything

OK thanks for all the help, ill keep playin with it and re-wire it. I also have a missing link from when i was running an fmu ill put that back on just to see it could bypass the map sensor pressure too high. Today is a new day and maybe a lucky one. Thanks guys

we havent even driven the car yet.....we have only cranked it and let it warm up. How does the map sensor detect boost at idle?

like i said we reset the ecu and it idels fine but about 20 seconds after its been idling it just starts going rich again out of the blue....

Hey I recently did some bottom in work on my b16, i re-ringed the factory pistons and honed in out a little to do trouble in the past. I was just wondering how long u guys would recomend as a break in period for the new rings . 200miles? 500miles? possibly 1000? please let me know thank you.
