    yes crank no start

    so... 97 tegra ls. the car cranks strong but the gauge cluster lights ( oil, abs, srs, etc) wont turn on and it wont start. this happens off and on,and when the lights come on it starts no problem. bad connection to the ecu possibly?

    stop me if im wrong here but im fairly certain with the intake timing you can adjust it up to 2 degrees in any circumstance... but thats just what i read off the internet. what else should i say though? check your compression, plugs, all the maintenence you might have overlooked that can kill...

    oh dear... sorry for the double post. i forgot to say you need adjustable cam gears to do this. but their pretty cheap and your gonna need them any way (cause i know you wanna make a beast car)

    i ran low sixteens in mine... but the engine was rebuilt right before i bought it. if you wanted my my advice i'd play around with the cam timing first. just make sure you advance and retard a couple degrees at a time

    you probably just pulled something loose with the battery cables. turn on the headlight and give all your cables a good jiggle. if the lights dont come back on then come back and ill type up some more

    cool thx! so what do i need to do a FULL conversion. some of the pages i looked over suggested that all i need is an obd1 ecu and a ecu harness, but im skeptical. if anybody has a link i'd be eternally grateful!
