generally the diff. between universal fartcans and quality cat backs are a resonator(looks like a high flow cat) that fix the wavelengthes produced at higher rpms eliminating the burning rice sound
I just installed my auto meter a/f gauge. it reads idle exactly like it should (slightly rich)but as soon as any throttle is applied it pegs at obscenely rich.

go to d-series .org and check their forums' stickys. one them say's my itb setup
it has a big discussion about this. he has a video on the site too. he used the cbr itb's and your not wierd for sticking honda they actually say on there that the cbr itb's have the closest spacing ( of course...
