hmm nobody knows anything about mini-me's? technically the bottom end of my engine should be the same as any other d15 series right? and i just checked the engine block to be a d15z2

yeh i'm aware that i need to add the wires for the fuel injectors and vtec and i'm prepared for that i also have the p28 (p08 almost the same) ecu and the 15b engine harness...which plugs right into my existing ecu harness. it would save me a whole lot of hassles to just swap heads..not sure...

can a d15b (vtec) head go onto a d15z2 bottom end? its an aus spec dual carby (d15z2) i have the whole d15b vtec engine but if i can do a head swap i will is this possible? the dual carby actually has an ecu i've heard problems with the d15z1 in terms of compression issues is this the same...

or am i mounting it wrong here's some pics of my d15b and the dizzy i got off an si.. also there are some pics of the engine harness i picked up, doesn't look like anything plugs into the ecu....do i need anything more than this in terms of harnesses or will my dual carby have it already...

i turned mine on it's side, would the be a problem? i didn't flip it upside down on it's side enough that the oil drained out where the dipstick should go in what should ido?

ok I just picked up my d15b and i was wondering which harnesses i can use? would a dohc zc be suitable? what modifications are required? would d16z6 harnesses be plug and play and would i also only be able to use p08 ecu's? coz they are hard to find any help would be appreciated.!!

would that save on petrol at all?

thanks for the tips. how would i know if replacing the head gasket was necessary? i'm not sure where the TPS is, or what it looks like, probably because i dont even know what it does... how do i know if it needs replacing..? are they expensive?

Hey guys I picked up a zc for a decent price and i'm soon (once i find the time) going to replace my dual carby engine.. i have everything i need and I was wondering, what sort of problems or tricky situations did u guys run into when doing a swap... also, while the engine is out i plan to do...

ok leakdown seems ok to do without the engine in the car hwo do i do a compression test without the engine in the car?

i'm about to buy a zc engine wats the best way to check an engine if it's not in the car itself, what sort of things can i look at to determine if the engine is in decent condition

oooh ok that clears up alot of things.. so basically the only thing that is connected within the firewall (cabin side) is the ecu. all the wires that go out of the ecu go straight thru the firewall and connect into the engine?

the guy is buying a half cut so he is getting a new wiring harness.. when i look under the steering column theres a whole bunch of wires there, are any of those attached to the wiring harness? or would i have to replace them?

ahh right, the thing is i dont know how to install the new wiring harness. the engine bay wiring seems ok - just hook up the shock tower connectors. but the cabin side seems a bit tricky.. any tips or writeups about installing a new wire harness?

well i'm already convering to fuel injection because the zc is going in do u know what modifications i would need to do on the existing wire harnesS?

it's a complete harness... i'd prefer to keep the existing harness if possible, but i'm not sure how much trouble it would be to keep the harness over the trouble to put in the new one

Ok yeh the engine comes with the new wiring harness but I might have trouble installing the new harness. If possible I would prefer to use the existing harness... Would the existing harness simply plug into the new engine via the shock tower connectors? Would any modifications be required? I...

I currently have a eg hatch dual carby setup and I was told that if I want to drop in a ZC engine it is possible to use my existing wiring harness, because (as I was told) even tho it's dual carby, it still has an ecu.. It's the Aussie 'breeze' model.. Is this tru, and if so can anyone point...
