Suspension will make more time then horsepower in auto cross.
The amount of time it takes to turn and floor it you are hitting your brakes. I have seen corvettes whipped by hondas. It's all about learning your car and keeping it smooth.
Don't waste your money on lower springs and normal crap...
I had a 1988 honda crx si. It was a great car until it got wrecked. Have mostly stayed with german cars but we race a Acura on the road courses. Nothing can handle like the honda. I know this site loves drag racing but I can't tell you how awesome these cars go with a great suspension.
I like the B's as well but the most bang for your buck, best power for what your looking for is the H22. Hands Down. 200hp for $2500. You can't find B18C for that which is 170hp. So there you go. You could have used the reference section to answer your question also. It has great info.
Sorry I just have to say that the question wasn't about saving money.
It was about the best. B18's all the way. More parts more fun and a shit load more power. I saw a B18 blowing 537HP in honda tuning so I don't think the D could ever do that.
I haven't built the head yet. As you know LSVTEC we have 3 B18B motors. One is gettting port matched as we speak and a shop owes us a VTEC head in which they are giving us a B16! I just didn't know if it was the best. Thanks
What is the difference in the head of a b18c and b16a? Both are vtec is one better than the other?
If you are swaping which has the most airflow stock?
Thanks
Did you know that the state troopers down in that area catch more drug runners then any other! They are looking for speeders that seem nervous. That must have been you! That's your profile.
Pissedoff has a great point. Compression for the b18 is at 9:2 and the b16 will bump it up to 10:?, almost a full point. That is inexpensive also. The pistons run for about $45 a piece from honda (Domed is what you are looking for). Rings are about another $100 or so. Do this and cams and...
I would go with either Crower or Skunk2. They seem to be good companys. Crower makes a B18 line so they'd be my first choice. Let the B18 breath and you'll love the power. Cams add more horspower than most modifications so get a good set and get the retainers and springs. A MUST!
So to beat this dead horse, does anyone know how to balance the pulley on their vehicle?
All most people want is good ideas about power. It seems most are against pulleys but the company's make them for a reason. If you take the pulley and balance it properly for your specific motor are they...
I enjoy most of what was said but the turbo b18b spanking a stock motor is just common sense. Turbo the b18c and you'll never look at the b18b again. That is why DART makes B18 blocks GSR. They also make one 2.0 liters. OH that would be the shit.....With a VTEC head and TURBO. The tested...
Before you buy?????????????
What type of horsepower are you looking at?
If you are under 200 the stock stuff will work just as good. Quaife is almost exactly what HONDA made for the LSD. We have 2. Another Team has a Quaife and they returned it because there isn't much difference. Just more...
I have heard this before. Harmonic Balancer? UR and AEM just lighten the pulleys and maybe make them a bit largerI think???? (I don't Know) How can this cause vibration?
