    for real? but i think the ref looks at the serial numbers on the ignition and ecu and they are supposed to match up or you will automatically fail it... but i could be wrong, i hope someone can tell me for sure so if i were to do it i dont spend the extra money for a front clip.

    i had another question i read somewhere on here but cant seem to find it again, but someone was saying they read an article about a Del Sol that had a b18c5 type-r swap with some extras and it was beating some corvettes. Now do you think that is possible?

    With a k series you would have to pick up a front clip for like 5 or 6 grand. Because the ecu has built in security and emissions control which in order for the stock ecu to work properly you would need the original ignition and the original key. its just a mess to pass a k series through the ref.

    my problem with k swap is that im in cali and would want to get it BAR'D and it would need the motor, ecu, and ignition to have matching numbers. Plus something about the fuel feedback line or something. But i have considered a k20a swap.

    I'm wondering if a f20c swap would be worth the money and how much fabrication would be needed? Would it be worth the efforts? 240 hp is alot for a stock motor.

    ok i was also looking at a 93 with a BAR'D gsr with b16 tranny, skunk2 manifold, aem intake, dc headers, civic type-r cams, aem sprockets, turbo fuel pump, and a chipped ecu. He is selling it for 6g's.

    The engine has a drag turbo(probably not CARB legal but not sure), Crane turbo cams, Crane vale springs and retainers, Eagle rods , Eagle pistons 8.1 compression, Golden Eagle block guard, Edelbrock intake manifold, large upgraded intercooler, blitz blow off. I think that is about it

    Hello I plan on buying a 95 civic hatch and it has a fully built and boosted engine, it is not BAR'D do you think it is possible to pass it through the ref, and i need someone who knows alot about the state ref system. If know about it please let me know.

    do you really think that would work? and what if i cant find another ls engine? damn that sucks. i also have heard of paying of refs but i dont know about all of that, have you heard of that before?

    I need help from someone who really knows about the CA ref system. I want to buy a 95 Civic Hatch it has a LS motor and it wasn't BAR'D, it is now boosted and is basically a fully built engine. First would a fully built boosted LS engine even pass CA smog, Second is there any hope in getting it...

    So how well does a b18c5 work???

    on last question then... for around 4500 is it worth a b18c5 installed with under 20000 miles or is it better to just do a gsr? and if i decide not to boost it should i do the type-r over gsr?
