Not exactly the plastic housing has sorta of a lock in it that locks into the metal fitting on the wire all you need to do is gently pry the lock up then gently pull the wire and the metal fitting out of the platstic housing. just remember which one it came out of it you are just soldering the...
Ok I have a grasp on the whole swap thing. I just completed the swap myself. The best way to do the swap is to change the entire body harness out for one that was in a car that had MPFI. The write up your doing your car with wont tell you that once you get the wiring done your crank angle sensor...
check your throttle postion sensor when you do the DPFI to MPFI swap you have to swap the outer two wires around. Unless the previous owner used a harness out of a car the had MPFI but it sounds like he used the DX harness. When you do the swap with the DX harness if you dont swap the wires at...
The other thing to do is check the seal around the hatch window my buddy here in Germany is having the same problem and it rains here all the damn time. His hatch and the quarter windows all need to be resealed. Good luck
Try this
www.sportcompactonly.com they have an ass load of parts they deal with after market stuff if you want OEM the best place I have found so far is www.hondaautomotiveparts.com they are semi cheap and the ship to just about any where. Good luck
The motor and dizzy have to match, The dpfi dizzy uses a 5 wire cannon plug the MPFI dizzy uses a 7 wire cannon plug as long as the PM7 came off a car that had MPFI it should work.
Well I have seen both Rexs and Hatchs with both the 16 and the 15 so its just meer luck that I run into one that I have to change just like my last one. Although this one will be easier than my last one considering my last one started its life as a 1.3 with a carb. Belive me that was a pain in...
in the add the guy wrote that it had the 1.5L and that it had power steering and looking at the pics I noticed it had a sunroof. When I looked at the car it was dark the owner wasnt there He didnt speak english the car was locked so I couldnt look under the hood
Ok so heres the deal Im getting ready to buy a 91 hatch. It has the D15 in it. It has an OEM sunroof. I havent got to look under the hood to see if its MPFI (Hopefully) or DPFI. I dont want to do the conversion again. My question is if the car has the OEM sunroof and a 5 speed is that a giveaway...
I know how to deck a head and block thats no big deal. Over 4 thousands Im gonna have to have the head shaved block no difference my problem is finding a head gasket in Germany right now. Does anyone have a D15/16 head gasket cheap??
efhondakid I didnt deck the head. I took my buddies word for it. Guess thats the last time I do that. There is only one way to put the head gasket on due to the fact that all the holes for the water jacket and bolts wont line up. Yes I did use the old bolts they didnt look all that bad I cleaned...
The other thing I was wondering would 4 ftlbs really make a difference. Would that crush the gasket. I mean if the torque spec is 22 and 49 and I torqued it 22 and 53 is that really going to fuck up the motor. ??????????
Unfortunately honda parts are a little hard to come by here in Germany. But I do have access to some. I went to the head section there is no torque specs in either the head section nor is there a torque spec section. Any other direction from there?? I sure as hell dont have a clue at this point...
OK not to be an asshole. I have a book for my car and guess what it doesnt have the specs in it. I got the specs off this site now my head gasket is fucked up again. I torqued it the first stage at 22 pounds and then 53 pounds. Now my car is smoking white like crazy. Im not sure if the gasket is...
I have done this swap. I swapped out the ecu harness along with the engine harness just to make any wiring problems go away. You also need the Si dizzy. Not a big deal. But I would suggest that you run the MSD cap and rotor with the external coil.
