Who here is good at math?

:werd: Hooray for Laplace Transforms. I loved modeling a MSD system using simulink and matlab, but Laplace was essential for simplifying the equations of motion down to something that could be processed by matlab. And :werd: to the ti-89. We loving called it the 'integrator', while the ti-85...

Just bought a roll of CF and resin

just so you know, trying to peel CF off your wing will be like trying to peeling apart two things that have been JB welded together.

Just bought a roll of CF and resin

What I'd do: 1) Make a mold of your stock wing 2) Get a high density foam core of your wing made from the mold. 3) Wrap the core in the CF after you've covered it with the catalyst. Vacuum bagging works to provide the highest strength bond, but it's not needed in order for the carbon fiber to...

Who here is good at math?

    You need to get your equation in the form A(t^2) + B(t) + C = 0 Then t = (-2B +/- sqrt( (B^2) - (4AC) ) ) / (2A) In your case, Rt=Ro * [1 + AT + BT^2] ----> A(T ^2) + B(T) + ( 1 - (Rt/Ro) ) = 0 And so T = -B +/- sqrt( (B^2) - ( 4A( 1 - (Rt/Ro) ) ) ) / ( 2A ) Note: +/- is read "plus...

Car just got repoed in my parking lot!

I repo'd cars with a buddy of mine. 9 times out of 10, the car was jacked up pretty badly, and the 'owner' was a crackhead. How does one not afford payments on a ford focus?

    91 Crx si w/ 94 B18B wont idle....dies

Vacuum leak usually cause a surging idle, or higher idle, not usually a low idle. Try unplugging your IACV from the harness, start and warm up your car, and see if it will maintain an idle at all. If it does, it's likely a dirty or malfunctioned IACV. (I know you said that you checked it, but it...

What REALLY is my compression ratio?

SRP.com | ACURA / HONDA - 1994-01 INTEGRA GSR B18C1 According to their own website, CR should be 9.0:1 with a 8.1cc dish. If that works for you, then great, if not, you need to work out an exchange with SRP for pistons that you want.

its a race to the princess

Yeah, I don't think I ever raced anyone, but that looked like a pretty intense competition, with some serious fans. :)

    Hi Pro Mods

Homemadeturbo.com is your friend. Or look around on here for the countless number of threads pertaining to engine swaps and mods. There are so many options, but most people will tell you that the best bang for the buck is refreshing your stock engine and turbocharging it. Well, with the HF...

    Oh Snap... Comcast Cellphone service

It would be nice if all the telecom companies did this. I would love to streamline my bills and services. Having all my telecom needs met by one provider, i.e. cell, home, and dsl, would be great.

    ls-vtec, poor man itr

Uh.... They both work well. You already have the LS engine in your car. It will save you the cost of buying another block, and you can put that money toward meaningful modifications. Like, er, um... a turbo, or some pistons. Just build an ls-vtec the right way, and it will last longer than your...

    This should improve my commute...

MPG is an issue of contact patch, while acceleration is a function of unsprung MOI as well as contact patch. An increased contact patch will increase rolling resistance (i.e. friction), which will increase the amount of required power to keep your car at a constant speed. This will cost you more...

    Laptop Recommendation

If you are considering a Core 2 Duo system, wait until the new motherboards with the 800mhz FSB come out. The Core Duo processors are on par for the most part with the Core 2 Duos, and unless they can be had for around the same price, I'd look for higher performance in the other components...

If a second job comes around...

I second the SV650 comment. Cheap, cheap, cheap, and parts are plentiful. Another great bike, riding-wise, is a Buell Blast. It's a bit small (dimension-wise), but then again, I'm almost 6'2". I rode my buddy's yesterday. It has good low-end grunt, excellent handlebar leverage, which I value...

    GSR turbo cams

The s2s2 probably has a bit too much duration. Looking at lift and duration specs,I remember that a ITR intake cam and a CTR ex cam will approximate what crower calls their stage 1 turbo cam setup. The gsr profile is good for turbo though.
