Same problem
Im having the same problem on my 99ex with a turbo b16a2 swap. It idles up and down from about 1200rpm to around 2000rpm after the engine is warm. I also replaced the iacv with no luck. Did you guys figure yous out
all right guys got the brand new distributer put it on and still no start
and ls vtec i took the battery to advanced charged and tested fine
im compleatly stumped and am moving at the end of the month and am completly out of money and cant borrow any more
so im going to put it on ebay

ya custome painter i already figured it was the coil/ignition module a few days ago and just ordered a whole new distributor a couple days ago but it wont get here intell monday so ill post if that fixes it

i just ordered a new distributor i think it might be the ignition module in the distributor that went bad
iv checked everything else
fuel at fuel filter and injectors
checked spark
check main relay solder
fuel pump works
timing belt is good
had no major problems when the engine died and it was...
the car does have fuel at the injectors
and power to the injectors
im flat broke and about to move i dont have a timing gun on hand
and no money to take it to a shop
can anybody think of anything else i can check
its looking like im going to have to put the car on ebay for sale
i tried just starting it just to see it must not be the alternator
it makes that ah ah ah ah ah type sound when you try to start it not the tic sound when the battery is dead
i took the valve cover off and the timing belt looks fine
i took the distibuter cap off and the teeth are barely worn along with the rotor so i dont think thats it
im going to check for spark in a little while when i get someone to turn the key so i can check for the spark

i do have all power and gas havent checked spark yet they are new spark plugs though and fairly new wires so i think it should be fine

i found the main relay on the passenger side to the right of the glove box took the cover off and all the solder apears to be fine.

all fuses are fine and the fuel pump does turn on everytime im looking for the main relay right now but im not sure which one it is does anyone now where it is located. iv looked around on the net and iv read driverside kick panel,passenger side behing glove box.
ya that machanic sucked i know how to do most of it myself but since i had to take the engine out to put new pistons in it before when it was rebuilt i didnt have a place a lift or engine host or anything to do it my self
it does have new gaskets and i even replaced the barand new valve cover...
but would the car not start if the timing was off?

o ya the gas had old gas with gas treatment and new gas mixed in so it made a knocking sound but i think that was just cause of the old gas
i did here a ticking noise but couldnt locate a exact area where it was coming from before it died
it does have a half tank of gas so thats not it
oil level is fine i did take out the spark plugs to look at them and there was oil over top of 2 of the spark plugs
