This weekend I finally got time to put the engine/transmission back together (after scattering the trans. and putting in new synchros and an LS fifth gear. My original flywheel has nine bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel....this Exedy lightweight one only has six......and I'm a...
Bump. Look again, please.
Ok. I want one of these emblems BAD. I will pay $50 for a nice one OR....I'll trade you an EF Si cluster for it.
Lemme' know. No junk. I need the "correct" one.
Thanks!
Jim
Thanks....GM Synchromesh + K&W FM it is. That's the combination we use in the shop to cure the late-model Ford trucks with the limited-slip diff's hammering and chattering like a bitch......
Jim
I did some searching, found a little info, but nothing recent. I'd appreciate any info on what to use in this transmission....Honda MTF + friction modifier?; GM Synchromesh?; or what....
Thanks for any input...
Jim
If any one wants...or needs to know this stuff.......here's the correct (as of 07/25/11) Acura part numbers for the trans seals. The numbers in the 'swap articles' section aren't right.
Right/pass side output 91205-PC9-711
Left/driver side output 91205-PL3-B01
Input 91216-PH8-005

Is the Exedy flywheel worth the extra $$ ( almost twice) versus an F1? Both are steel and same weight. Got the LS 5th gear swapped into the trans (easy, easy job, btw....no press or fancy shit needed no matter what the official manuals say...)....gotta' decide yea or nay on a flywheel....and get...
That's kinda' what I was thinking....I'll measure stuff up using the '90 Integra specs I printed off.
Yeah....it does have an LSD also. What I've seen so far taking it apart....is that it's never been apart. Everything I've looked at so far is OEM stuff. Mint (original Honda) clutch, no heat...
I also (using the Mitchell On-Demand that we have here at the shop....) found the same specs for a cable A1/S1 for a USDM Integra if those will work...
Good Morning....I'm getting ready to scatter the transmission so I can get this B16 off the bench and in my '91 hatch. First....the trans is gonna' get a set of LS fifth gears, and new synchros (and anything else I find that looks the least bit shaky). My question is....am I safe using set-up...
Hey....I want a nice 'DX' emblem that is supposed to be on the passenger side of the hatch on a '91 EF Civic. It HAS to be nice......no chrome peeling, etc. Name your price (within reason) email me, and I'll buy it.
Thanks!

Gotta' opportunity to buy a pretty decent (for here in the Rust Belt...) '91 EF with a pretty much DOA motor. It's a 4 speed car, and I'm going to have the entire bone stock engine/trans out of my 'nice' DX EF when I pull the trigger on this B16 swap. Sooooo......I could have (another) beater...
As usual, thanks for your input. I'll just order the Exedy flywheel and do it all up right the first time. Flywheels....are the same for cable and hydraulic trans, correct? I know the clutches are different....
Doing the final groundwork before I scatter my EF for the transplant. This week's project is the LS high gear set, and throw in new synchros while I'm there. This thing is gonna' end up with the B16 (OBD-0) left stock.....pros/cons of one of the aftermarket light flywheels.....trading off too...
After a little more research, I'm not so sure the K & N is the wrong one......I'm thinking that the cross reference information is wrong..... I'd ordered the Wix/NAPA counterpart (same filter-just change the first two numbers). K & N's cataloged dimensions don't match the dimensions from the...
Hmmm. Try again.
That K & N number is for the filter that my Civic currently uses.....this JDM element is narrower and longer......still has one corner lopped off like the Si/DX element.
I've got a 'real' EF SiR airbox with all the ducting for my upcoming B16 swap in my Civic......but I can't find a replacement element for the damned thing to save my soul....and the one in it has NO numbers or anything on it. I've gone through dimension catalogs, etc....and can't find one the...
