What engine management type does the car have? FMU, AFC hack, Hondata?

    ZC questions

If the plugs are in the center of the valve cover in a valley, then the motor is a twin-cam. The vtec solenoid found on the head near the distributor, identifies the fact that it is/not a vtec motor.

    Nitrous

Proper mixture is what f's up people's motors, that, and too much timing. Wet kits are safer IMO. Any car without a fuel pressure gauge with nitrous is a disaster waiting to happen. When pressure drops off due to demand...BAM!

just bought my new hatch and

The dash wiring can effect your dash light circuit. Make sure all the dash wires are taped off. The parking light circuit has to have a blown fuse or cut wiring, and I agree that the high beam is probably burned out. Pull out the parking light assemblies and check to see that the harnesses...

    Car Alarm

I've worked with clifford, alpine and Dei products (viper, sidewinder) and find the DEI shock sensor, when tied to the cars main harness as recommended to be the least likely to false and be the most consistent. If you can find a place to buy the DEI uninstalled, the pricing is very reasonable...

    Setup Complete

I'd like to see the opinion of someone who has run a low boost setup with and without intercooling. Agreed that charge air temps do matter in power production, but my argument is that the charge air temps aren't that much different if intercooled, maybe 20-30 degrees. at that low boost level...

Good Engine For 2000 civic si

What's the fascination with the LS bottom end? They yield, what, 90cc's more displacement, but without the main support or engineering for the 8krpms? I can see sleeving the stock block with a bigger bore and putting in a nice forged piston, but LS? Please help me out, no shit. BTW For this...

    12 Second Civic

The question was asked, "how much horsepower do I need to run 12's". That is the best question on this whole thread. For that car, it would take around 350 hp, depending on weight and traction, to put that car squarely into the 12's. That's only about 50% more power than that motor puts out...

    Turbo 94 civic

It won't be a screamer even turbo'd, but as long as compression is good and the tune is right (conservative timing and adequate fuel) it should work fine. The 16valve head flows good enough for decent power.

    F20c...y Always A Supercharger?

The centrifugal superchargers most mfg's have out for the S2k are top-end power producers. If you look at torque curves for stock and supercharged, the supercharged motors don't make more power until after 3500rpm. I'd think a well sized properly tuned turbo system would kick ass on the S2k...

    Cam Question- B20b Vs B18b Vs B18a

Cam gears would be a good investment. The stock spec cams already have a decent amount of lift and duration, especially for a turbo car which benefits less (than a n/a car) from a higher lift. My suggestion try tuning with the intake cam0 slightly advanced 1-4deg. and exhaust slightly retarded...

    Today's B Series Myth, 0wned.

The only reason for vtec in the first place is the ability of the motor to have two personalities. Mild manners under the small lobe section, and race manners on the big lobes. For a race car, small lobes are useless anyways. The other point is that the B18C or B16 motors are built to...

    Boosting A B18a

The Zdyne is very similar in abilities to the hondata. I don't know the specifics on the how-to side, but the Zdyne would be the best bet for that generation of car.

    Air/fuel Meter Vs Egt Meter

To answer the question, a wideband O2 is different than the factory O2 sensor in that it can read voltages which span the entire range of rich to lean. The factory or aftermarket type O2 sensors can only send a very narrow band of voltages to the meter. On the other hand, a temp sensor (EGT)...

B20b Stock Installed For $3300 Good?

I did my own JDM b20b swap with the LS transmission(92 civic lx). I wasn't disappointed with it at all. Fifth was a tad tall for highway response, but the car was my commuter and averaged 32mpg. You will be amazed at how that "big block" pulls from a dead stop. No lag, no bog, just sweet...

    Sohczc In 91 Crx Dx

You can replace the TPS on the throttle body. The rivet-type tops can be cut or ground off, then bring the throttle body to the hardware store and find replacement screws or allen-head bolts. I'm sure someone on this forum knows the best size. You'll have to mess with the adjustment for the...

    Help With Mini Me Swap

The head should work, but the manifold and sensors would be a wiring nightmare. Go with a more conventional head swap. If your D15 is from a cx (2 valve motor) it won't work correctly.
