when swapping an engine with obd2 into a obd1 car... do you need to match up obd1 ecu with distributer? or will the obd2 distributer work with obd1 ecu... grs engine

My buddy has a 5gen civic, I have a b16 hydro tranny, hes thinking about buying a 1st gen b16 long block and mounting it to the hydro tranny and installing it into his 5 gen civic... are there any major wiring issues or sensor issues? he dosn't care if its emissions legal... thanx
