94 ex and 96 ex engine and trans swap

I have a 94 ex my buddy has a 96 ex I need a engine he needs a trans we were gonna buy a wrecked car and use on both if we get a 96 or 97 what concerns do I have using the obd2 engine in my obd1 or will my trans work in his car?

sorry my car is a f22b1 obd1 and his car is a f22b2 obd2 will the trans swap r they the same?

The transmissions should swap over fine. Gear ratios may be slightly different though...
