badass full drag race Miata

saw this in another froum and figured you all may dig it. supposedly this Miata makes 300hp NA on a 1.8L DOHC 4 cylinder!! to me it looks like a baby RX-7 from the rear. heres the pics:

I used to race a miata with a little no2 before it became nos.......


The stock bottom on the miata's can handle serious boost and power before it needs to be upgraded, very similar to a 4g63 block.


The miata that runs 10.9, "purple one" runs on a stock bottom....shit is sick..

whats no2? Nitrous oxide is n2o.


The stock bottom of the BPD 1.8 Miatas can handle upwards of 14 psi of boost before you need to upgrade the rods/crankshaft. That equates to like 275 hp or so I believe.

However the stock ignition and fuel delivery systems would need to be upgraded for ANY boost.

How do I know this? the BPD8 in my old Escort is the same block, pistons, crank and rods as the Miata. The only difference is that the Miata is RWD, the intake, head, valvetrain and camshafts are more aggressive.
