Blockguards , will they help me to go over 12psi

Was wondering if a Blockguard will help me go over 12 psi boost in my GSR with stock internals , I am going to run a Hondata s200 w/550 cc injectors, and I have been 12 psi well be fine with that setup, but say 14-16 psi can I do that with a blockguard and be safe as long as I dont over rev my motor, Oh yeah I just got my turbo .48 Compressor .63 Turbine and 50 Trim. T3 Turbo ,


They are so cheap and I figure if I could run 15psi of boost and one I would be more than happy and I guess I should be putting out at least 325whp. please let me know what you guys think , thanks alot
 
At 15 psi on a GSR you'll be getting into internal failure anyway. Before that's swatted, I know the Hondata will help if tuned right- but if you are going to get in there for a block gaurd... As far as I can tell, they are snakeoil.
 
I have heard that the blockguards actually just put more stress on the cylinder walls because the guard is at the top. I also heard that having the block posted, or sumthin like that, gives better results. If i am correct, that info came from a post on here from a few months back.
 
weakest part of the cylinder on a honda is the middle wall so blockgaurds are useless and most also have serious coolant flowing issues....stock honda rods should go boom first with cyl. walls next.

posting with a block gaurd is somewhat better but will probably cost more than sleeving
 
Block guards are B.S. I ran one in my Z6 and it promptly blew up from lack of coolant flow to the cylinder head. Now that I know better......... Yes block posting is a very reliable way to support the cylinder walls without impeding coolant flow to the head. You can do it for about $35 and a few hours time. You can get the block studs from Endyn, and they show you how to do it on www.homemadeturbo.com. they used JB weld to hold the studs in, but in my motor, I just tig-welded the holes shut that I drilled in the block. I have done this on my LS/VTEC, that I run 10lbs on every day, and have had no problems at all. And I have very poor fuel managment, just an FMU with DSM 450cc injectors and an AFC hack. I keep blowing more tranny's than anything else. Oh and by the way, All my internals are stock, and I did the posting without taking the pistons out of the block.
 
posting the block is going to be your best bet if you don't want to sleeve. But at 15 psi your 100% going to want to have rods, rod bolts, and pistons. Otherwise cya later.

most people want reinforcement of a correct opinion. Thanks for the help though, I read the whole thread before I posted. I guess I haven't learned how to post yet.
 
I think that they are a waste, you want reinforcement get sleeves.
