d16a6 tranny on a d16z6 motor

I wanted to know if the a6 tranny will have better gear ratios for the z6 motor than the z6 transmission. I learned how much these can matter when my friend put an h23 tranny on his f22 and stomped my f22 with the f22 tranny.
