I picked up a d16y7 running about 2 weeks ago and have rebuilt the engine as well as removed and replaced the old d15 through the bottom using a jack. I am only swapping the block and head while keeping the hf trans, axels, intake, dizzy, and headers until going mini-me later but using a pm6 ecu and hf harness both identical pin outs from the ecu (Supposedly). Mocking up the new engine I seem to have one left-over sensor under the intake Infront of the firewall with threads I believe to be fan switch that I need to create a fitting for through the coolant plug as well as taking care of a PCV hose leaving the intake which I have yet to find the opening in the fire wall. If anyone would be able to confirm or debunk my thoughts, please do. I also had two open coolant outlets from where the previous oil cooler, on the d15 had been, around the oil filter which I plumed together from the metal water pump tubing outlet to the smallest thermostat inlet because I will not be reusing it.

Car is running and driving but not the best. My plumbing was changed before first start where the metal piping was plugged, and the smallest coolant thermostat outlet was found to enter an intake coolant reservoir. The pipe leaving the intake was plugged, still unsure as to where it goes. The car idles between 1 and 3k rpm bouncing from 1 to 3 like a cam, tried adjusting idle mixture screw with no luck anyone have any ideas?

Starting the car today I found the cold start to surge between 2-3 and warmed between 1-1.5 I still have a large tube leaving the bottom of the intake on the driver's side which I plugged, unsure as to where it connects, the car will run great over 3k rpm but seems to hesitate and lurch at low rpms. Anyone have any ideas? I have been told to check IACV as well as the PCV.

I will be burping the coolant, checking IACV and checking timing today, I am almost positive the cam is a tooth off. I also get an engine light sometime at low rpm that I’ll read too see what it’s telling me. Should have it figure out tonight.
