engine swap on 01 ex

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a engine that i could swap for my stock one that would give me the most hp gain.
I don't know much about it, its pretty new to me, so try and help me out.
I'm looking to turbo it on down the road, within the next year year and a half.

Yes, please search and do some research on this.

Your only real option for a swap is the K-series (K20, K24, etc.). The B-series or H-series won't work in your chassis.

Another option is to turbo your stock motor. Have you looked into that?

yeah, i have but its a sohc and i was wanting a dohc
i'm wanting to be able to run with my friends cars, and they have v6s.
so i'm just trying to get the most out of my car

I was looking at a k20 from a rsx type r so I have researched shit.
I just wanted different opinions from different people.

You could probably make 200 wheel horse on a boosted D-series engine. The K-series engines have a lot more potential, but it's definitely possible to keep up with your buddies running V6s on a boosted D17...
