Local guy left 3 chihuahuas in a black suburban in the wal-mart parking lot (full sun) in 104 degree weather a couple days ago.. It made the paper. Cop ended up busting the window and pulling the dogs out.. One was fainting/falling over.

The paper didn't mention any charges being filed though.
