I'm kinda confused, i dunno. I was just looking at the engine reference section and I noticed something...

B16A 1595 168@7800 116@7300 10.4:1 81 77.4 dohc yes 2 1996-2000 Civic VTi
B16A2 1595 160@7600 111@7000 10.4:1 81 77.4 dohc yes 2 1999-2000 Civic Si

If the bore/stroke/displacement are the same, how are the power levels different even if only by that 8 hp/5 ft lbs? Would it be because the VTi has (I'm assuming) a slightly higher lift vtec lobe on it's camshafts?

piston dome size is a little different.

and yeah vtecsir1, you're right the compression ratio is a little different also which is most likely created by the difference in the dome size of the pistons.

isnt the cam profile slightly different as well??
