They say low temp thermostats and theromswitches help to reduce engine temperature by activating the coolant/fan at lower temperatures. This should help to save the engine, minimize possible detonation and help engine performance.

Has anyone tried it?
Does it work?
If so, which one to get - Spoon, Mugen, JR (Jackson Racing) ?
Is it good for N/A applications?

Thanks

Its not necesary, but if you really want your motor to stay cooler, rig a switch in lin ewith teh power to the fans. Thats the ghetto, cheap, "ricer look" way :imgone:

They are really not helpful except if your car is a hard core track bitch. For normal daily driving, the cooler temps will make your car run richer, thus getting worse performance and gas mileage.

:werd:

Increase your cooling capacity so that your cooling system can do a better job of keeping the engine at optimal operating temperature- but don't try to overcool the engine.

steer away from those things....

if you want better cooling, step up to a fluidyne or pwr aluminum dual core raidator, and a fal fan

Yip, I drive my car like a mad man, autobahn for hours, around town, and once in a while on track, and my Fluidyne keeps it plenty cool.

if you don't have AC, you can always go with an integra radiator or any other radiator for that matter that is about that size, and just weld up your own mounting points.
