Key Features of the HSM1590i
The world's first snowblower with a function (STi control) for switching between operating modes:
1. Auto mode
Automatically adjusts travel speed and engine speed to match operating conditions. Ideal for inexperienced users, this mode minimizes the need to operate levers and other controls during snow removal (e.g., engine speed regulation lever, forward/reverse speed lever, and auger housing control switch).
2. Power mode
Automatically reduces travel speed in response to work load, and maintains maximum power output from the engine. Users set the snow discharge distance3 (up to 21 meters),4 and the engine maintains maximum power output based on the specified snow discharge distance, ensuring high operating efficiency.
3. Manual mode
This mode is ideal for users who prefer the feel of the conventional model.

The world's first1 snowblower featuring a function for maintaining a constant snow discharge distance (in auto mode and power mode).
Snow discharge distance is maintained by automatically adjusting travel speed in response to the work load, and by maintaining a constant engine speed with the new electronic STR governor. This function makes it easy to discharge cleared snow to the target location.

In November 2001, Honda introduced the world's first snowblower to feature Honda's original hybrid technology that combines a gasoline engine to power the snowblower apparatus with electric motors for forward propulsion. Since then, cumulative sales of hybrid snowblowers has reached 20,594 units.5 The introduction of the HSM1590i will expand Honda's lineup of small and mid-size hybrid snowblowers to six models, which in turn will help Honda’s initiative to expand the market for snowblowers.

thats a lot of neat features, also a lot of shit to go wrong...

anyone thats every blown snow knows all about the load vs speed, and the problems of having direct drive vs electrical motors for travel...

available for production for 2006

HYPER VTEC y0
:o

In sports type motorcycle engines, especially in 4-stroke engines of medium displacement, the maximum revolution reaches to a level as high as 13,500rpm. To cope with such high revolution, Asaka R&D Center has developed a compact and simple "direct-actuated" type variable valve control system, HYPER VTEC. This is an epoch-making system as switchover is made from two-valves to 4-valves per cylinder in the low and medium speed range and the high speed range is completed in the valve lifter without using the locker-arms, so the increase of mass is checked of the kinetic valve system and the ease of operation is secured in high revolution range.

doesn;t the insight have a tranny connected to the engine?

this snowblower has no direct drive to the wheels, only powered by electric motors which get power form the engine...

I'd rather buy a snow shovel and stick $5k in my pocket.

Thats probably what this bastard is going to cost.

I dunno.. a 21 meter discharge might be fun to play with. Especially if you hate your neighbors.

i forget, you live in texas right? b/c nj got over 3 feet of snow last year. you shovel out of that.

just kidding, its really not that bad, especially when my neighbor has a snowblower and i can go snowboarding an hour away while he gets my sidewalks.

3'? you pussy...

we get about 30 feet of snow here a season i would guess.

5 or 6 good 12-18" ers, and a ton of 2-4" ers
