p06 to P28 question

I'm seeing a bunch of ECU's on ebay saying they're P06's modded or chipped to a P28. Are these reliable? Should I just find one that started life as a P28? I'd love to get an AEM, but yeah, they're not cheap... oh yeah, i'm doing this for a mini-me, but eventually i'll have a turbo Z6 bottom end. thanks for any help guys

just get a p28 you can pick them up for about 100 bucks, look in the stuff for sale area
