piston/valve clearance issues with b20/vtec

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I don't feel like searching through 3333xxxxxxxx million posts if I use the search feature.


Building b20/vtec (refer to sig), and I'm buying the Race Engineering B20 engine kit with the Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods. Will I run into any clearance issues with the valves running skunk2 cams and these pistons?

i know a b20z with gsr head doesn't have clearance issues. your best guest is to clay it and hope for the best. plus can't you adjust the cam timing so that it doesn't interfere no more. yah, yah, may compromise cam potential. i know.

Well i have a B20/B16 head and using skunk 2 std valve and JE 9:0 pistons STD bore i have no problems... JE and i am sure wiseco have them as well (make them strickly for the B20/B16 combo.)
 
not worth guessing , its too important and getting it clayed cant be that much , c-speedracing even has a good write up on it w/pics if you wanna do it yourself,and do you really want to buy new pistons and head+ if someone else's info is off or if your build is different[which they say all builds are].
 
Wil, the only clearance problems are with the stock PHK or P3F pistons. once you get better pistons you should more than likely be alright.

wil already blew up that motor, and sold me his head.

I've blown up 2 motors since this thread...the B20 and the 85mm B18C1...
