A Chico State psychology professor pleaded innocent to three drug charges Tuesday.

William Clapham, who isn't tenured, taught his psychology class Tuesday morning, but he didn't go to court for his arraignment. His attorney entered an innocent plea for possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a narcotic and possession of a smoking device. If Clapham is convicted, each charge carries a six-month sentence.

Clapham was sitting in a red Mazda car at 12:40 p.m. Jan. 28 near Bidwell Mansion when police found him smoking methamphetamine, Chico police Sgt. Dave Barrow said.

Clapham taught class that day from 11 to 11:50 a.m. and was scheduled to teach from 1 to 1:50 p.m., according to the university class schedule.

now i've never tried meth, but i would think its not a drug you wanna do before going in front of a group of people to speak/teach... <_<

to be honest i would have expected weed...

or something considered "mind expanding" by hippies and the like...

not meth...

I'm willing to bet he is/was a good professor though.

yea, i bet he covered LOTS OF INFO in each class...
speed talking anyone?

Well, there you go, a college names Chici State? That's located at the corner of Methadone Blvd. and 40-year-old-single-mother-of-2 Drive, right?

Yeah, the college is named Chico State. It's heralded as one of the country's biggest "party schools" last time I checked.
