Hey new to the site and I am planning a swap in my 02 si k20a with a spoon dc5 block. I am going type r all the way obviously and I am wondering if the spoon block would be worth the coin of if i should just get a used jdm complete set up and tear it down to rebuild. The spoon block is 4600 direct from the factory but for a bit more i can get a tranny too if i go the used jdm. I am just afraid to get a used block mod it up and have castrophic failure.

...I wasn't aware that Spoon offered blocks from the factory. I do know they offer to rebuild an engine for about that much. In comparison, K20A Type-R swaps run for about $5000 plus shipping.

Used engines run fine so long as they're in good condition and/or have been rebuilt properly.
