Yep, KMS is shipping the motor out tomorrow!(Friday)
He said he's gonna give me a discount on the price, too. (I shipped it Sept. 6!)

And I picked up some brake rotors today. EF EX rotors, but I didn't get the Legend Calipers because I couldn't remember which one I needed to buy.
My ideas for my brakes up front are Legend calipers/pads, EF EX rotors, SS lines. Then in the rear I'll throw on some DA rotors and calipers, and SS lines. All to go along with my 1" DC MC.

Can anybody refresh my memory as to which year/trim Legend calipers I need to buy? I'm thinking 1995 Legend Sedan, but am not sure.
Thanks
-ANdrew

Update 12/15:

I've got some tires to get mounted(I've had them for a while, but decided to go ahead and do them this week) 195/50/15 Yokohama AVS ES100's.

And I picked up some 10.3" rotors to fit under the Legend calipers(will buy tomrrow)

That would be badass! I'll bet you could market a brake system like that for about $10,000. Someone would buy it.

I think Mike needs to step away from 'the pipe'.
Speaking of pipes, I picked up some goodies to play around and make a homemade catch can!

Shopping list is as follows:

(2) 1/2" x 1/2" hose barb $1.44
(10pk.) 7/16"-1"hose clamps $5.72
(6') 1/2 ID braided PVC tubing $4.92
3" x 5' S40 PVC piping $7.07
(2) 3" PVC CAPS $5.16
= about $25. I still need to get a drain valve. (like $8)

Heres my plan:

Any tips I should know about?
I'm thinking of sticking some steel wool or something in there to trap the oil.... ?

That looks good to me. I wouldn't worry too much about the steel wool. I actually had my catch can draining back into the block- the lower fitting was low enough that the oil could go back into the drain plugs in the back.

Huh. That would be a good idea, that way I wouldn't have to buy a valve to manually drain it.(actually wouldn't ever need to touch it at all..?)

I mean, I can make the bottom drain hose as long as I want, so maybe I should consider doing what you did. Could you elaborate a little bit on which plug I'll be needing to drain to?

Hey, that's what this site is for. I did my first swap based on this site and it turned out great. You're build is looking really nice, keep it up. I'm sooo envious of the quality of your CRX's body.

Yup, I never had to touch the catch can once it was hooked up. The filter on top let it breathe so that it wouldn't have to be drained or have pressure relieved from it.

The plug I'm talking about is the giant brass plug on the back of the block. I don't think I have a picture of it, but there are 2 plugs on the non-VTEC blocks. The GSR might only have 1- the other is where the black box sits I think...

Well, I'm in the process of buying that prelude nipple to replace the black box to go to the catch can. Oh, and remember, this a A6 block.

I guess I'll have to figure out a way to incorporate a filter on the top of the can somehow. won't be hard, just got to find a filter.

Couldn't you rig a fitting into an OEM oil filter and use that as a catch can? It'd be supa cheap and stock, eh, sort of...

I'm not so much worried about cost. I just wanna make my own thing and see how it turns out. In time, I'll just invest in a real one and cut the small guy out...

Ah crap. I completely forgot that you were building a D. I just got into B series mode because we were talking about the blocks. You know what? You could probably have the catch can drain into the top of the oil pan like a turbo drain line.

Hmm.... sounds like a good bit of work for just a oil drain.
Heres what the back of my block looks like:

94-95 GS Sedan had the dual piston calipers so they wont be the same as ITR as ITR's are only single pistons...

Just plumb it in place of the stock breather box.

I was referring to the plug to insert it into the block(the drain), not the can.
I'll probably place the can right where the stock black box was.

The breather box has to be fed from the block through some kind of fitting, right? Use what's left after you remove the stock box.
