K, well, as most of you know, I hit a rail on the way to TN. It tore up some of the passenger side of my car. My alignment was already off, but the passenger side of the car was even straighter than the driver's and now it's ruined. So, what I'd like to know, is what I have to do exactly and maybe about how much it'll cost, to get my car all strightened out. This includes checking the frame, alignment, any details you can come up with. Sorry, if this is a stupid question to most, but I've never even dented any car I've driven, so this is a first for me.

step 1: take it in for a free inspection. they'll put it up and let you know if the frame is square, and they can tell you how out your alignment is. alignment runs about $60.

It's free??? Someone told me to check the frame, it'd be around a grand....hm, I dunno. Maybe that's for if it's all fuckered up and stuff and they have to fix it.

I'd shoot someone in the face with a bazooka if I had to pay someone a grand just to check something for me. I'm sure they'll give you a quote for it and all if you ask.

But I love my car.... they're hard to find and overpriced when you do in the Boise area from what I've seen, so I guess I'm screwed.....

Do you have anny pictures of the car. mostly of the frame in the wheel well on the side you hit on. maby we can tell if it is bent from pics. if it is not free to get it checked at a local body shop. i know i bent my frame once and had to pull it straight with two chains a cemented fence post and a big 4X4 bronco truck.it worked out fine. i hit a curb at 35 mph almost straight on. that was two years ago. is it drivable? i havent heard much about the crash.

Sorry, the pics are on my prepaid cell phone. If I had the extra money to spare on it, I'd post pics. But I need to be frugal with it considering I'll be by myself in unknown territory for a couple more days.

Basically, I was going 15, 20, maybe even close to 25 miles and hour down a curvy road in Kentucky and it had just rained. I was turning a corner and my wheels slid and I hit the rail and scraped the passenger side kinda bad. It tore the door trim off, punched in a piece of the quater panel by the bumper, broke my corner light and bent my fender to hell. My alignment was already off, mostly from the wheel on the front passenger side, but when I hit the rail, it drives, actually, strighter than it did before lol.

I believe it probably bounced into the rail more than slid into it due to overinflation (well, to the max psi) in my tires.

If that gives you any kind of idea lol. I really wish I could post pics, it would make things a hell of a lot easier.

When I first got it, yes, to the right, a lot. Then a few months ago, I rotated the tires and it wasn't so bad. Guess it maybe had some wear that caused that? But after this crash, it's strighter than ever, but it hit that wheel that was fucked in the first place....

Ah, well, a bad tire will cause a pull, but if you say you rotated them and it went away, and hit this gaurdrail and it still drives straight I wouldnt worry about it. Alot of places will give you a free alingnment check to make 100% sure you didnt mangle anything up too bad though.

Nah, it runs decent and drives okay. It wobbles at about 50 miles an hour now instead of 80-90, but that's all.

no i was just gonna ask what part of ky she was in cuz she said unknown territory and i know ky pretty good. also what part of ky was you in when you wrecked

I don't remember.... it was a month and half ago. And yes, I did make it to TN. Have you really missed out on that whole bit??? You're a lucky one....

Yeah, nothing interesting. A lot of drama and obvious misinterpretations made by people on this site. Long story really. I don't regret going down there though. I just dread the drive back to ID alone the most. I still have 1700 and some change left.

well when you go back home you should stop by the florence area of ky
