Most people will simply forget about it more than likely. And to help further that along once the media stops talking about how historic it all is they will go back to talking about Brad Pitt and gay whales fucking in the Mississippi River.

Gay whales?

fucking?

hold on a minute, weren't we talking about some healthy stuff?
i think you are trying to distract me.

and on facebook
a girl posted this:

Crystal Fxcking Deris: Haha at all you conservative, right wing, upper middle class cunts that come from money and have rich parents that pay for everything bitching about the healthcare bill. Dont worry, bitch to mommy and daddy a little more and they'll buy you a new car and other shit you dont need.. God forbid that it helps someone in ne...ed out. Shame on the government for wanting to improve health and make change.

then this right after:
Crystal Fxcking Deris: Every person I have seen that made a negative remark is a right winger.. 9 out of 10 right wingers are upper middle class.. which means you have NEVER had to do without and chances are you have NEVER had to work for a goddamn thing... so suck my fucking dick. Just sayin.

to which i replied:
Jonathan Butler: but, im not conservative, right wing, upper middle class, dont come from money, my parents are poorer than i am.

then she asks:
Crystal Fxcking Deris: Then what is your beef?

So I answered:
Jonathan Butler: aside from the fact that its unconstitutional, its complete bullshit. first, heres this link for you. David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey: Mandatory Insurance Is Unconstitutional - WSJ.com
im not going to just give my opinions, im going to give actual information.
the government is WAY overstepping their boundaries. I'm not anything that you described above, but I dont feel that i should have to pay for something that i dont want. the added bonus to that is that career welfare families now get free health care, even more reason to not like it. i have no issue with everybody on welfare, but i see people everyday that are fully capable, even before the recession, that are on welfare and have no reason for it.
these laws are going to force pay cuts, lay-offs, and a murder shot to small businesses. all businesses will be required to supply health benefits to employees, not all businesses are profitable enough to offer that. and if they dont, they get fined hundreds of thousands of dollars.

They couldnt even get social security to work, that program is already bankrupt, what makes people think they can do this correctly?
They cant even get public school systems up to par, how can they do this?
they should be spending the TRILLIONS of dollars, that we dont have btw, on things that actually need fixing and actually will have an impact on the world when our undereducated, over drugged children get out of those jokes we call schools and start running this place.

and thats just for starters.

I'm assuming she didnt really know what to say, because she started talking about bush? :
Crystal Fxcking Deris: In response to what is constitutional, I didnt see people putting too much effort into changing or bitching about the war when ALL BUT TWO laws of the bill of rights were broken.. but i guess thats beside the point.

what about a president that puts us in a war that congress voted against that killed THOUSANDS on our side alone.. which i personally know several that perished and still have family and a husband that are in the mess.

the patriot act which was a complete infringement on personal privacy. that is unconstitutional.... See More

george w. putting a ban on filming caskets with flags over them. that may not be unconstitutional but its certainly disrespectful.

im not going to sit here and post every little thing that has happened while w was is office because it will take absolutely too long.. but check out democarticunderground.com and ask yourself the important question of

where the fuck were you when this shit was going on? were you blind to what bush was doing? i mean seriously, he raped everything this country stands for... and because a guy comes in and tries to better our countrys HEALTH, people are getting seriously butthurt.

greed.

thats what our country is based on now... greed, not humility.. and its disgusting.

So, I said:
Jonathan Butler actually, i dont agree with the war at all.
i dont think we have the right to be over there uprooting another countries government jsut because we want everybody to be a democratic country.

where was I? I was underage and couldnt vote. and the situation at hand really has nothing to do with that. i remember, and still currently see, many people trying to protest that.
But our government doesnt listen.

What this current president is doing is marching this country directly to the standards of socialism.
everything he is wanting to accomplish, is along that path. and forgive me for feeling that a country that was founded on terms to escape this kind of bullshit is being led in that direction because of exactly what you stated above: Greed.

who do you think this bill benefits? its sure as hell not the people. they are going to force us to buy health care that is going to be useless. people think that you have to wait forever when you go to the ER now? you just wait, when this takes affect, you will be lucky to even make it into the building. People think its difficult to get a doctor to actually pay attention to them and properly diagnose them now? just wait til those doctors have a slew of new patients come in to take advantage of something they are forced to have. you know how it goes, if you have it, you may as well take advantage of it, even if you dont really have a reason to use it.
When you need an extremely costly surgery, you wait til you have to have your case argued in front of a panel to justify the cost of saving your expendable life.

I hope you dont have grandparents that are still alive. because they are going to get shafted the hardest.
Drug abuse/addictions are going to skyrocket out of control.
the only people this bill benefits are insurance companies and the government.
insurance companies/pharmaceuticals, thanks to our president, were just force fed MILLIONS of new customers. i'm willing to bet they dont publish their bonuses when this goes into affect. think they were making money before?
and the government now has more control than it ever should have had. also, they have a new source of revenue, there are going to be so many people, businesses, doctors, and hospitals to put hefty fines on now.

you guys let me know if there was something that i should/shouldnt have said.

she is the definition of why this happened.

Tell her to drop the fucking R vs D mentality and open her eyes. It isn't about the stupid ass he said she said bullshit they would have us to believe. Whats done is done, we need to focus on preventing the stupid shit from happening again.

Ok, the main thing that bugs me about this bill is that it is going to create more unemployment, partially because companies are going to freak out and start laying off people to be safe because they don't know what's going to happen. Then these people sitting on their asses all day not even trying to find a job will get another 99 week extension because the unemployment rate just skyrocketed and they won't have to worry about getting a job for insurance because they will be covered.

What is this supposed to teach the lazy American? It's ok to not have a job and sit back and relax while other people are busting their ass to pay for you to live the lazy life you are choosing to lead ... come on.

and then there was more. lol.
her friend chimed in:
Vanessa Tippett hey jonathan, how you doing?

some thoughts:
1. allowing insurance to rape the american public? not okay. regulation is something the insurance sector needs, and they have been posting record profits at the expense of regular, hard-working americans. americans cannot expect the private sector to do the "right thing." as long as they can get what they want, they will continue to do whatever want, they will, and it will be at the expense of everyone as it is today. we have already seen the need of regulation in private sectors.
2. uninsured americans costs everyone more with the number emergency room visits. the focus of healthcare should be on preventative medicine. proper preventative care will benefit everyone. of course, proper preventative should be expanded to all areas of life, including misplaced farm subsidizes that result in the low price of crap food. ... See More
3. there are 47 million uninsured americans and 75 million under-insured americans. this is a crime in a country as rich as america. you may disagree, but i believe in social justice. we cannot watch our fellow citizens suffer simply because some think it is a "dog-eat-dog" world. there is no reason why paying for healthcare should ever put anyone into overwhelming amounts of debt. i watched my mother die of cancer last year. it was shamefully expensive. well over 100,000 dollars, and she was only sick for six months. sadly, it would have been much more than that if she didn't have insurance. luckily, with my father's army retirement benefits and medicare, my family and i could focus on her needs and illness without having to think about the crippling debt that would have been incurred otherwise.
4. mind you, the insurance industry isn't the only problem in this situation, but it a good place to start.
5. america has successfully socialized many parts of our lives. yes, public schools. the police force. firefighters. the nuances and difficulties of educating the public and healthcare cannot reasonably be compared, as they are so completely different and unrelated.

you use unnecessary scare tactics. the sky is not falling because as a country we make a lame effort to actually change the course of business. no other country in the world spends more on health care than americans, and for the price we pay, we do not even have the best care in the world. we aren't getting what we pay for. and that's a problem. cry as you might, there isn't even a public option. personally, i'm not a fan of the bill. we could have done a much better job helping real, everyday americans.

have a great night! :D

so i responded:
Jonathan Butler Hello Venessa,
There are many different directions that the government could have gone in order to make insurance more affordable to the average american. they are going the wrong way. its plain and simple, i know that you cannot please the whole country in most instances, but this one has shown from the beginning that the majority if the country was against this. and regardless of any other fact, this is a country where the majority is supposed to rule.

1. insurance companies wouldnt be able or need to rape the american public if they were allowed to function across state lines. by not allowing them to do so, pretty much limits which companies certain people can buy from, therefore allowing the companies to push prices accordingly. allowing them to do so would open up much more competition in the market of every state, and the prices would show the good in that. Also, the limits should be imposed on why and how much people can sue for. Medical costs are so high because Doctors are walking law suits. higher medical malpractice insurance equals higher rates from doctors, higher rates from doctors equal higher costs to insurance, higher costs to insurance equals higher cost OF insurance. its a "shit rolls downhill" situation. there are so many people out there that sue doctors for the dumbest reasons, some that are justifiable, but most are a complete joke. and as long as judges allow this to go on, the costs will not go down.
But, people think that nobody should ever die when there are doctors around, that they should always be able to heal them. its not, nor will it ever be the case. doctors are people, in a field that is contantly learning new things everyday, and they do and will make mistakes. people dont think that a doctor should make a mistake and expect a million dollar payoff when they do. ... See More
Theres a huge lack of common sense here.

2. Proper preventative care? never going to happen. with people so quick to sue, a doctor cannot take the time to give proper preventative care. with so many drug companies shoving new pills down every bodies throat everyday, theres too much money in keeping people healthy, they need us sick. you think that forcing people to have health will change this? no, its only going to fuel this fire. as i stated above, medical companies will benefit the most from this.

3.yes, it does suck that healthcare is so expensive, and im sorry that you lost your mother to cancer. but, i feel i have pretty much hit the costs issue on number 1.
but it is a dog eat dog world.

4. insurance industry was one of the worst places to start.

5.the mere fact that bringing this country one step at a time toward a socialistic state doesnt bother you is just odd to me. and i do believe that they can be compared because they are both government enforced products. the government cant even control and properly run the institutions that they have had on their plates for such a short amount of time, so instead of fixing them, they add another issue that they will completely ruin.

I use no scare tactics. I tell the truth as i see it. if the truth is a scare tactic then i formally rescind the first sentence of this paragraph. Our government has no right to tell any private sector business how to operate. no matter how bad it may be. its against everything this country was built on. We may spend a lot on health care, and it may not be the best, but there are a lot of people that come from other countries to use our system because theirs is already on the path that ours is headed.

you guys just let me know if you want the play by play to stop. lol.

im going to bed. we'll see what else is posted tonight.

I thought this was interesting...from the bureau of labor statistics Employment Cost Trends Home Page

March 10, 2010
Private industry employers spent an average of $27.42 per hour worked for employee compensation in December 2009. Wages and salaries averaged $19.41 and benefits, $8.00. Private industry costs for employees averaged $1.86 per hour worked for paid leave benefits and $2.25 for legally required benefits.

So according my calculations...If you had 100 employees...and they averaged 40 hours a week

100 x 40 = 4000
4000(hours) x 27.42($/h) = $109,680 per week.
$109,680 x 4 = $438,720 per rmonth
$438,720 x 12 = $5,246,640 year on salary and benefits for 100 employees.

That's stunning to me actually

became a fan of the page
added a TJ quote, maybe double posted

if anyone knows how to fix it let me know
it keeps going away, to where i have no idea

Became a fan of the page as well. What bothers me the most is the shear breakdown of the democratic system. There is overwhelming distrust of the system, and distrust of the new healthcare plan - yet representatives are blindly voting as a group mentality just to pass something. Generally in a democracy, the peoples word is above all else - but in this case, the system has failed.
Too many representatives are being paid way too much to do too little. God forbid any senator or rep makes less than 200k a year and doesn't get a state funded car, expense account or travel stipend.

Burn it. Burn it all to the ground.

you are now required to purchase insurance, and risk possible fines/imprisonment for failing to do so.

so your saying if you have a job but no insurance you have to get it or be fined ?

That part of the bill doesn't kick in until 2014... My guess (hope) is that by then it will be removed, modified or overturned.
