Good Hid Kit?

For looks? Maybe. I haven't really seen those kits fail but most have different "start-up" times. OEM units turn on much faster.

If you're looking for function nothing will beat a retrofit and 4300k offers higher visibility.

5000K is the lowest I would go. Kinda trying to get rid of the yellow ish look. As long as they're brighter than my Silverstars I'd be happy.

I don't really care about start up time too.

And you'll have hotspots that make YOUR vision horrible and throw lots of glare that makes everyone else on the road blind. For the $300 you'll spend on that kit you can build your own proper retrofit setup with true HID hardware instead of this Mickey Mouse HID kit nonsense. It still won't be legal, but at least you'll be able to see and the people around you at night won't be blinded into hitting something.

If anything, you can atleast locate some projectors from a decent 90's BMW or other luxury car. Then simply retrofit those into your headlights as well. Not only will it increase your visibility, but you'll increase your originality and awesome points IF done right.

Sweet...I didn't know that. I thought HIDs were the way to go. Thanks guys

these 23 year olds dont know shit. Talk to Arnold in your science class....... Jk =P

That kit is way overpriced. I just picked up a 5k hid kit for the fiancee's altima over the weekend for $100. It had used ballasts from a friend but I know the same place will sell you a brand new kit in pretty much whatever color and style you want for about $150 plus shipping. I know alot of people who are running these kits and they seem to be very reliable.

i also have a ddmtuning 55watt slim ballast 8000k h4 hi/lo kit and they are the bomb. i can see everything so much clearer with them and i haven't had anyone flash me because they are too bright. as far as color, they look like a 6k kit, white with a small tinge of blue/purple color.

Yeah, I wouldnt go with the violent purple or deep blue. Your local law enforcement can give you some real sh't about it. A buddy of mine had the violent purples on his civic, and I can ALWAYS spot him going through town at night. Plus I think the purple and blue are considered "illegal"

Each to their own....

I've probably seen 3 different cars up here with aftermarket kits. When I went to Seattle for the meet EVERYONE had them. I liked the look, it freshens up the front end. :)

Thanks for the DDM link. $40 for a kit!
HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

I'm pretty much set at the 6000K temp.

Oh. I want to take apart a pair of my spare EF headlights and re-seal them aswell as maybe find a way to spray reflective stuff on the inside because mine look rusty. :( Anyone know how to go about this?

halogen projectors.. still not the same as a real HID retrofit
I'm cheap and lazy.. $55 for plug and play? or ~$300 and a lot of work retrofitting...

They really do look good; I've also never been flashed by others highbeams. I think the 6000k is perfect temp, slightest blue/lots of white.
