i just bought a z6 motor with no dizzy.... i still have my full y8 motor just has a bad wrist pin. in order to keep this car passing ny state emission inspection what to i have to do to make this work? i would like to keep everything together on the z6 motor if possible and just add what i need to off the y8 to not throw a cel. sorry if this is confusing it late and i been spending to much time trying to look this up and cant get a clear answer on what i need to do to make sure i still pass obd2 inspection..thank you in advance

you can use the y8 dizzy altnator,injectors and ecu still just pull old ones off put y8 ones on header also so both o2 are working

what car? 96-00 civic?
y8 distributor will not work with a z6 head.
also, z6 has no knock sensor.
i swapped a z6 into my 97 dx but i converted to obd1

it can still work where there is will there is way use p28 it doesnt check for knock we didnt even hook it up on b16 in da runs fine

the mounting bolts on a z6 head will not allow you to set timing at 16*btdc unless you use a td42u distirbutor.
and a p28 is obd1 (hence the obd1 conversion reference in my previous post)
the OP wants to keep it obd2.
