I put a 91 B18A1 into my 88 civic hatchback dx have no spark. i put a whole new distributer on it and it still dont work. is ther anyone that has had this prb b4 or neone that could possible help me out. i would appreciate it greatly. If i cant figure out y it doesnt spark would ne one be interrested in buying a 91 B18A1, trans, and a 91 teg ECU. if ne one could help me or want the the stuff let me no.

thanks

Please include more info, how did you wire this? Did you convert to mpfi? We need more info.

yes, i did a mpfi conversion. i relacted wire b10 to c1 and b12 to c2 and then i ran new wires from b10 and b12 to the dizzy. and i also ran the wires for the other 2 fuel injectors.

stupid question but are u using a mpfi ecu right now?also dubble check the dizzy wiring...

yes, i am using a 91 integra ecu. is the wiring that i siad i did the right way to do it? and does it matter if i switched the 2 new wires that i ran to the dizzy around, becuz i read that it will run, but the timing would be severly retarted.but thats just wat i read
thanks

Are you actually referring to switching the 2 wires to the distributor or swapping the 2 wires on the tps? I'm in the wiring portion of a b18 swap into a 91 hatch. I may be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that the wires were to be switched on the tps due to the motor rotation difference. Try www.fourthgenhatch.com/mpfi.html I may be wrong, it's been a long day LOL :D

Sorry man, I just went back and read that it was a spark problem and not the tps wiring that I was thinking of. Told ya it's been a long day.

check all your fuses, do you have any codes? when you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump? check the altanator selinoid valve fuse in the fuse box, if you dont hear the fuel pump. does the ecu blink once?

thanks

Did you get the map sensor of the integra also did you get a si hf or integra resitor box?

yes...i got a resistor box, but i dont no what that would have to do with the car not sparking...and also no i did not get an integra map sensor...what would that have to do with spark?

-did the starter work (does the engine turn over when trying to start)?
if not, check the GROUND wire from chassy to Tranny.

-Stupid question.... Did you wire up the Resistor box for the Injectors?
if not, re-do your wiring with Resistor box.

-Remember you have to swap wires on the TPS plug, they are reversed on the DX.

-Did you do the wiring for the Distributor?
check the Distributor plugs, Remember you have to do wiring for the Distributor Too.

ALWAYS HAVE A SPARE ECU, AND DISTRIBUTOR IF YOU CAN WHEN DOING A SWAP.
this way you can check is something goes wrong.

here this might help..TAKE NOTICE OF THE BOLD LINES

DX to ZC
Inside car at the ECU plug:

Pins B10 and B12 are empty. Unused pins can be taken from B2 or B11. Some models have a wire located at B12.
Cut orange and white wires off at C1 and C2 and connect them to wires added at B10 and B12. Orange-B10. White-B12. Leave enough wire for next step.
Run wires from C1 and C2 (direct ECU connection) into the engine compartment. Label these wires for later use.
Cut wires at A3 and A7 leaving plenty of wire. Run these wires into the engine compartment and label them for later use.
Outside car

Transfer DX wiring harness over to ZC engine.
TPS and EACV plugs are too short and must be extended.
Be sure to switch green/white and yellow/white wires on TPS
Injectors and injector resistor box

Connect the yellow/black wires from the two DX injector harnesses and run it to the yellow/black wire on the injector resistor box.
Connect the yellow wire from the DX injector to the #1 injector (brown wire).
Connect the red wire from the DX injector and run it to the #3 injector (blue wire).
Connect the A3 wire to the #2 injector (red wire).
Connect the A7 wire to the #4 injector (yellow wire).
Connect the 4 red/black wires from injector resistor box to each injector.
Cylinder position sensor

Connect C1 to blue/green wire on cylinder position sensor plug.
Connect C2 to blue/yellow wire on cylinder position sensor plug.

Thats it. Double check everything and start it up. Good luck!

try cranking it over for about 15 seconds... after it doesnt start leave the key in the on position and see which codes the ecu is giving. this may give you a head start in the right direction to look

have a mechanic look at it..make sure u have the right ECU.
just hearing you i would replace the spark plug wires, rotor, rotor cap, and plugs..just to make sure those are not the problem.

hey maybe it is your ignition relay........check that too..

located under the dash on the driver side, to the left of the clutch pedal bolt up against the chassy, somewhere around there....

the ecu is not giving me any code, and i did change the tps wiring. also will the swap froma dx to a zc work for the b18a1, and what ecu should i be using...what numbers and letters should it have on it. can i use the stock ecu.

im having the same problem with my b18a1 swap to a 89 hatch i checked everything and i don't know what 2 do
