Why Huskey Tools Suck

So in my swap, I only broke 5 tools, which is not bad considering for most of the stuck bolts, I just used a 3/8 drive ratchet and a cheater bar (top of my craftsmans jack) and not a single one of those ratchets broke. The tools that I broke were a craftsman 1/4 ratchet (some how the thing that you switch to change directions broke off), 2 no name 3/8's extention (one 2-3 inch, the other like a 12-18 inch), and lastly a huskey 3/8 drive 9in extention. (actually an adapter snapped inside of it and is now stuck)

So I first go to Sears to replace the 1/4 ratchet. No problem, easy walk in walk out kind of thing.

Then I head to Home Depot (only one that sells huskey) Go to the tools department, find the exact extension, then ask some sales person were I had to go to replace it. Then the person asks if I have a recipet (sp?) I'm like, "uh, I recived a set of huskey tools when I bought a huskey Tool chest a year ago, I dont still have the recipet." Person says she is sorry, they only take broken tools after 30 days from purchase with a recipet, and after that, you have to deal with huskey. Garenteed for life my ass.

In quality, I love my huskey tools, they feel great, are all polished, have yet to have any of my sockets show the slightest bit of wear. It's just their policy sucks. With craftsman, I have some tools that my dad bought in the sixtys, and I know that if something went wrong with them, I could just drive up to sears, walk in, find the tool, and walk out. Huskey blows this way.

Yup...Craftsman, Snap-on, Matco, and Cornwell......are the only companies that are good on honoring their tools....

Other tools are just CRAP.....and they will always be crap.

I bought some screw extractors from Autozone...Vermont something...and as soon as I applied just a little torque...they snapped.

Same job, better tool...Craftsman tool...not one broke...and I was wrenching on them 10X harder.....Quality OwnZ.

yeah bro, i broke the little switch direction thing off of my 1/4 and my 3/8 craftsman- I liked the rotary dial a lot better than the little black switch thing- oh well gotta love guranteed for life

I use Craftsmen tools for the most part other then my almost never used tools "Standard size" I buy the cheap shit since its rare I use them

just today I was talking about buying a bigger tool box =) feels good to say that hehehe

thats why i have all snap-on and matco. im not too fond of craftsman, ive broke way to many of their tools and its a pain in the ass to drive to sears everyime you break something, with snap on and matco just call up the dealer and thell drive to your location and deliver a new one.

not to go off topic much, but im sitting here watching American Chopper, and they are making a custom chopper for Snap-On using their tools. they are cutting up the tools and fabricating them onto the bike. those poor tools!! BUT i am sure the chopper is gonna look sic when its finished.

i think i sawe a lil tidbit of that episode, where they use 2 open end wrenches for the handlebar mounts? that bike has got to be one of the more expensive bikes they build if they incorperate all those tools on there.

anyways as far as craftsmen sucking due to the fact you have to drive to them....

3pm on a sat when working on your car at home.... you break a snap on tool do you think they give a damn if you get the tool back that day? hell no

atlest with sears you have the option to replace that broke tool 7 days a week

sure you have to drive but atlest you have the option to get a new one

BTW I've broke many tools thats why its good to have 2 sets of everything =)
and snapon/mac is MUCH better then craftsmen Im just not willing to pay the price
plus its not to often the snap on truck stops by my house... ok well its more like never

I have 2-3 extra 12mm sockets/wrenchs as with 10mms =) always nice to have backups I tend to break/lose them the most

I wish that you could make a custom tool kit from sears and instead of getting 256 tools and only 40 fit your car, it would be sweet if you could trade the 11's 13's 15's 16's and 18's for more 10's 12's 14's and 17's.

Plus I hate on there 256 or whatever tool sets, half are SAE, then they count the 40 allen wrenches, and screwdriver tips as peices. I have too many sets of allen wrenches.

All of there all Metric are too expensive

BTW the oil return line from my turbo was 8mm =) as with the charge pipe clamps

just wait till you get outside of hondas the other tools come in very handy!

i have broken alot of craftmans stuff.... about a month ago i bought alot of snap on tools and i absolutly love them .... and have yet to break any of them ....

weird. i only use Husky.. and havent broken any yet. Thats using breaker bars.. with 1-2 people standing on it.. trying to break a bolt loose. Bouncing up and down on it. And it still works fine. Granted ive lost damn near all of them.. but i have yet to break one. Plus theyre shiny and pretty

i have broken some sockets that are made from husky and i can easily get them replaced at home-depot. I think the person you talked to just didnt know the policy on husky tools and their life time warrenty.

Hopefully If i get the Husky Set I asked for in BLack Chrome, it won't break.....Because yeah, they seem beter then craftsman, but the warranty, that's really gay.
