Philly is similar to NJ NYC, but the Pocono area where I'm at is rly nice. Its a small town and then I'm 10 minutes up some backroads where I have an acre and a half with only a couple neighbors. Perfect for me, I have a shitload of toys that I terrorize the roads with B)
Don't compare Philly to NYC. It's a shitty city and the people are complete assholes. They make 10 year olds in Giants jerseys cry and beat the shit out of the father whos in the same jersey. They're just nuts. NYC might hassle you for wearing an Eagles jersey but I can't tell you how many people I know that get the shit kicked out of them for having anybody but the Eagles on. The people of Philly just aren't right. But I guess I would be a little mad too if the best thing that ever came out of my city was a steak-em with cheese whiz on it.

I meant as far as population and the amount of stores/activities. Pocono area is DEAD, stores are far and few between and you might as well pick up a hobby to occupy your time

I like areas like that. When you've lived my life, you're done with people. All you want is a fast fucking car and some empty pavement.

Also, yeah.. Philly has a large, pointy and knotty stick jammed up it's ass.

^I'm with you on the fast car and some empty pavement. Its the only reason I stay there. Town is 10mins away if I need something, but other then that, I want peace and quiet. I like being able to do whatever the fuck I want.

Celerity, Byran was no where near the Philly area/atmosphere.

He was in the boondocks of North Jersey. My ex-girlfriend's parents moved out there to get away when they went through some finnacial hardships and their youngest problem, who had psychological issues, was having a problem in school. They moved him out there because its the woods. Literally, hand feed deer there.

I've broken down on I-84 right infront of the Dingman's Ferry exit and believe me there's shit there.

Milford, is what hicks think is the city in PA.

Stroudsburg is just another extension of NJ and is right over the Delaware Water Gap. Its where bridge jumpers and college kids retreat because the cost of living is cheaper. I-80 through that area is a two lane, 55mph cluster fuck.

Philly is on a completely different level. I loved Philly when I stayed in it and had a great time. I was there the other year for Live 8, but make no mistake about it - its a city unlike the areas that Bryan is describing.

He's originally from Scotch Plains I think, which is 20minutes from the city by car but still far enough away that everything is spread out and nothing like a major metropolitian area.

NYC is also a great city.

I know nothing about colorado.

I know New Jersey very well. I lived in Holmdel for a while.

northern jersey, not sure if you looked lately, is completely paved. north of Elizabeth, or "Holy shit what's that fucking smell" is a small portion of the state, but it's definately it's most memorable.

Dude, you're going to try to compare nothing "New Jersey very well" to someone who has lived here all there life... right?

Holmdel is a completely different New Jersey. Its the shore atmosphere and South Jersey atmosphere. I rolled into Holmdel as a Junior and Senior is highschool for state running competitions and running "the bowl". The people in Holmdel looked at all us Bennies as aliens and acted like we were strangers. Its amazing what geographic location does for attitude.

North Jersey is virtually a part of NYC, its just the suburbs. Same is to be said about parts of PA like Stroudsburg.

You get past a certain point of Jersey and get into central and south jersey and its like an entirely new state - obviously the NYC influence isn't so great there.

I'm currently "seeing" a Tom's River girl that tears me apart jokingly for being from a completely different world. She calls me a benny, says I'm not a local, says that its the beach not the shore, etc., etc. Its just a different lifestyle.

My point was Byran really wasn't in that urban of area and myself and my good friends all survived it. He obviously brought a lot of heat on himself which is the center of his problem and not the location that he lives in.

Currently I'm South Jersey by Trenton and when the headlines of the Trenton Times are "Gang Problems in Trenton Boom!" and you live near the murder central of the country, Camden - I can see where you can have problems, but back home in North, NJ none of this shit is a problem.

Good luck Bryan, but remember its not just the location and if you want a new beginning you're going to have to change things about yourself as well.

I can't believe Cel lived in Holmdel. I live in Hazlet which is a neighboring town. Your right about the BEACH atmosphere though. But Hazlet and Holmdel are Central Jersey, not South. Thats a big issue. And I don't look at Bennies like strangers, but I do hate that they flood the highways, beaches, and boardwalks with Blowouts.
My gf is from TR too. Only I am a local and I do call it a beach. I try to stick to surfing in the summer because not many bennies even know about my surfing beach and if they are there no one is going to bear witness if I beat the shit out of them because everyone there is a surfing local. And that is a culture within the beach culture.

My roomate here in Ewing/Pennington/Trenton is also from Tom's River. He actually left earlier to go back home and surf tonight. He goes back home every weekend and he's not a social retard or misfit, he just loves it. The girl is the same way, she loves home and its a huge part of her - she always talks about TR.

And you saying Holmdel is central jersey not South Jersey illustrates my point. Myself, being from North Jersey, I categorize South and Central Jersey as one. Its like North Jersey and everything else, whereas people from Central don't like to be associated with South and vice versa. We're dicks up here and just classify them together - and have our laughs about it when our roomate gives us a shit for hating on TR.

Sorry, next time I talk about a region of the country or state, I'll refer to your delusions first :)

Just like making babies, it happened over and over and over again for a reason.
Picking up and moving to the other side of the country will only fix problems for as long as you let it.

Funny.

You talk about my backyard and are completely off base with the area that he lives, as described by slush as well, yet you continue.

As I said, I know nothing about Colorado so I'm not going to speak of it.

But Holmdel and Philly are two entirely, entirely different places as are the NEPA and North Jersey area. You mispegged his geographic location and the mentality there.

I didn't mis-"peg" shit, dingbat - I said "I used to live in Holmdel" and "Northern New Jersey is completely paved" .. then a "smiley" emoticon to signify a joke.

You really need to loosen up.

I worked in a city near Denver at one time... It's actualy a really nice place...

He said nothing bad about central Jersey(the CJ, haha). But you do need to loosen up a little, nothing he said was absolutely horrible and parts of north Jersey do smell. But yea, never compare Philly to any part of NJ, there is more than just a bridge between us.

I could care less if someone dogs on a state or area or what not, but he compared two completely different places as if they were one.

My post was just a wake up call to say, "Hey, pull your head out of your ass. You know nothing if you think that NEPA and North Jersey are anything like the Philly area."

I don't know a whole shitload about Philly because I don't live there, but I do know from the times I've been there that its an actual city, unlike back home, and its an entirely different atmosphere - public transportation, etc., etc that isn't available back home.

I think Chicago and the suburbs would be a good place overall... Nice mix of peoples/incomes, good night life, jobs, and almost no rice boys... You see maybe one modified car a week around here, good or bad.

I hate Chicago. I went there with my CRX and a friend of mine, and thank god we could hold our own. 2 mugging attempts, people trying to scam money - it was horrible. And the police are WAY more concerned with handing out billions of dollars in parking tickets than in actually getting scumbags off the sidewalk.
