So I might buy a new car....

I might go hit the dealers tommorrow, and check them out...first I do a lot of internet research...which I've done now since sat...

the other option is some used 2006 Subaru Outback in arctic blue with 18,000 mile for $21K's out the door....way out of budget, but good for 8-10 years...

$17,200 and my car is good for at least 120k miles... or 7 years... but i know 120k will come first... but then again... you guys have snow out there...

I may purchase a fit. In 2 years.

I like the fact that the auto is a 5 speed. About time they figured out that it works just as well with an auto. Companies pushing 5 speed manuals and 3/4 speed auto's make me sick.

But yeah, the fit sounds/looks like an awesome car. I miss my CRX Si. Burned an entire tank of fuel at 110+mph in florida. still got 29mpg. That thing averaged, I think, 40mpg if I wasnt driving like a crazy man.

The CX got 55 if I was very careful with it. But that thing was irritatingly slow. Give me a car that weighs 2000lbs, has 100hp, 5 speed, and pulls 50mpg. I'll be a happy camper.

I think the fit could fill that bill with a little modification.

you pretty much described my mirage, except i only get ~35-40mpg.

i get about 380 to a tank... avg about 37 which is what EPA says, but I know that's always 'high' to some people.

Mini Coopers are death traps. Please don't put your kids in it if you have any... I saw this one woman with a license plate saying 'SOCRMOM' or something like that, and she had 3 kid seats in there... there is NOWHERE for a car to go except into the back and squish your kids against the front seats...

But, if it's just you and another person in the front, not bad... they're slow, but they're pretty 'cute' little cars... fun to drive. ;)

I didn't know Clayton was capable of buying something newer than 1989.

I am if I stop dropping $3000 on a set of wheels and tires when I see them....;)

plus the wife said she'd help shoot $200 a month for it...that should cover the insurance at least...:(

Mini coopers are 10x safer than an older Civic 4 door.

All of these cars are way safe than they were just 10 years ago. Look at the Smart. That thing is safer than anything I've ever seen.

Also, I'll stuff a llama in the back of the Vega and sell it to Kaori for $14,000.

I test drove a new civic for a week lsat summer and I averaged about 38mpg, I kid you not. THose get crazy good gas mileage.

welp, I went to test drive one...I really wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be....then again, I had a cranky dealer in the back that took me down only slow roads....dickhead. And they would have a two-four month wait....earliest I'd get one is in June.

Bullshit. That's if the 'color' or tranny you want isn't there. I took home the one I didn't test drive... so that way I got mine with 2.3 miles on it. ;)

I'll take you guys out in the Yaris :)

A1 Toyota is covering that ding too.

Shoulda told him to strap himself in and hold on.

I had that Sentra up to 80 in a 35 (in an industrial park on a Sunday with no traffic) when I test drove it. Ask Brian, he was with me. lol

i feel left out, i'm only getting 28-30 in the box :)

but then again, i put on some heavy ass 18's and i floor it just about every time i hit a stop light....
