Man cuts off his arm with a pocketknife to save his own life!

Every time I read about something like this it blows me away... especially this article. The guy cut through his arm with a pocketknife and then snapped the bone in half to get away!!

Geez, this remeinds me of that Rock Climer that got his right arm pinched between 2 rocks and couldn't get free for days and cut his arm off as well... Man god must go threw alot of right arms, must be all the bowling he does up stairs and causes thunder down here lawl!

Yeah really.. at least the guy admitted it was his own fault for what happened.

I just don't know if I would be able to do what he did in that situation.. although I've never been anywhere near burning alive and having to choose between cutting my arm off or being burnt alive. I guess the thing that really blows my mind is where he said he felt all the nerves he was cutting through with the knife, although it really didn't hurt much?!?, and then he broke his bone off in the machine to get away!! uke2:

At that point, you're probably just in too much shock to feel anything. The brain is capable of amazing things. He probably just blocked out all the pain without knowing it just so that he could survive.
