Ok I have been looking at my pinouts for my ecu found here:
I have been trying to single out the ones that I need to check so that the vtec works - please correct me if I am wrong somone?
Pin A4 is the output for the VTEC solinoid and gives a 12 volt signal to turn this on when all other...
Hi,
I have a problem with getting my VTEC on my car to work - first let me tell you everthing I have done:
OK - I have a B16A2 engine out of a 1997 honda civic VTI (UK spec), the engine wireing loom is from the same car. The dash wiring/ECU wiring is froma 1997 SOHC Civic. My ECU is from a...
I am not the most knowlegable on here but have read a bit on it as I have the same problem.
I dont think there is an immobiliser in the ECU but there is an external immobiliser that needs to correspond to the ECU's code or something - these guys here have talked about it a fair bit...
Cheers mate - thats a lot of help - thankyou.
Might contact you later about the other contacts. The only majour info I am after is if its possible to bypass the OBD2a p2t immobiliser. I am asking because I belong to the 16vminiclub and we there are quite a few members who are converting there...
Cheers guys - I have just found a P30 ECU for 70 UK pounds and am ordering a conversion cable from the US for $70 but will take 3 weeks to get here - they dont sell em in the UK!
I will probably be on here again when I have problems with the 'plug and play' ecu!! ;)
So if I simply get this P30 OBD1 ecu and plug it in with the conversion harness the I wont have any problems with teh bloody immobiliser or transponder key - is this correct?
Yeh as in The Italian Job mini!! With a b16a
Cheers for the info - I will have a look - anyone else have any idea if this will work? I mean has anyone on here had to replace an ECU or even swapped one before - were there any problems?
Anyone - help?!!
Basiclly if I had a 1997 CIVIC with a PT2 ecu and for whatever reason it got fucked (i.e I kicked it!) then I got another PT2 ECU - what would I have to do to get the new one to work with the rest of my car? That is the poblem I have really.
Would it just plug in and work?
Thanks you guys are a lot of help.
Yes my PT2 ECU plugs into all my wiring fine - it is the same generation ECU so it all plugs into the wiring fine. How do i get it to work. Am I correct in thinking that it will only work if the code on the ECU matches the code on the immobiliser and key?
If...
Not the replys I was hoping for!! None of that anwserd my questions - M&L minis uses a DTA management system for there mini swaps and obviously it would be easy to use the correct wiring - ply and play. However I have not go the correct wiring and I have just paid 18o pounds for this one and...
Hi,
You guys seem to be the most knowlegeable on teh web so I am hoping you can help.
I like in the UK and have a Mini. I have put a Honda CIVIC B16A2 (DOHC) engine into this little car and now have to do the wireing. I have heard that I have to have the matched key, immobiliser and ECU to get...
