When i step on the throttle and my (D16Z6) hits vtec there is a puff of blue smoke out the exhaust!! Now all the cylinders have perfect compression readings but what i cant tell is weather my oil rings are bad or if my valve seals are bad???? How can i tell other than pulling the head off...

if it is a b18c it will also say in big letters on the top of the engine """VTEC"""" if not it is not a b18c

you can only open it up so much before you dont have enough back preasure and not enough back preasure means less power!!!!

Well i took apart the distributor and the cps ohmed out correct but i began to look at it and when the arm that crosses the cylinder positioning sensor crosses it the rotor is facing the front of the car. Weird i know!!!

When i pulled mine apart the only way to get the cylinder positioning sensor to be in sync with the #1 cylinder was to have the plug wire on the forward most plug terminal. Come to think about it the car does eat oil like candy but i just figured it for a leak (just finished puting the engine together last week)

53 ft lbs is what the book said and for an alu. block and head it sounds right but i just wasnt sure since the spark plug wire config on the distrib didnt match

No engine codes and the solinoid tests out for continuity but i will try taping it to the battery. Ill try anything

Just an off the wall question but are the torque specs for the D16z6 Head like 53ft lbs?
