Check for continuity in the wire itself. Maybe the CYP is not bad. You could have a break in the wire somewhere or the connector at the distributor. I had a problem with my car not starting. After checking the starter battery etc......it turned out to be a bad wire.
After thinking about it for awhile, the original valve cover was the one with the ridges. I like the one that came on the new head because it was smooth and shiney. Im guessing it is a B20. So if they are all interchangable then the HG for the B18 should work.......or should I go ahead and get a...
oh BTW the valve cover was blak (of course) but it was rough and dull not shiney and it has the ridges on it not like the smooth one on the head that came on the car. I just figured it was because it was from a 91 integra (B18A1). IDK if that helps any. I will search pics of the B20 and B18A1 to...
The motor ran when it was still in the integra. I swapped the head because it has a bent valve. I ended up putting the old head back on for now until I could figure out what was going on with the new head...still confusing right...lol. The guy sold me the head saying it is a B18A1 but it never...
I took what was sold to me as a B18A1 head to a shop to have it pressure tested. The shop says everything checks out and they had it machined to make sure it was not warped. The guy told me the valves were not the correct size to be a B18 head. They said they were bigger than B18 valves. When I...
I had a charging problem with my car and I had a bad battery. The alt was good but the battery had a dead cell and just would not hold a charge. I would think it was more of a wiring problem the if you say it does ok until you put a load on it.
I might have the other head checked out. If its not in to bad of shape I could get it fixed. It was supposed to have been rebuilt when I got it. There is a cam retainer bolt broke off in it so it would have to be drilled out and tapped but there is nothing hard about that.
If I bought new...
I readjusted the timing and then rechecked the valve gap today and it is still tapping loud. The cra runs good but it will have a slight miss at idol. It also has a slight backfire when coming off the gas. I replaced the tensioner timing belt plugs wires dist cap and rotor and all the gaskets...
Ok. I adjusted the valve lash at .008 on my exhaust and .006 on the intake. I still have a very noticable tap. I am assuming its a bent valve. What is the down side of driving with it this way until I can get new valves and install them? Other than the horrible noise and awkward looks from...
I just did the same swap and did not use the a/c mounts or the one on the other side either. I have noticed no difference either. I used the factory motor andtranny mounts also. I intend on changing to the hasport mounts eventually. But to answer your question, you dont really need them.
I could be wrong and im sure someone will correct if so. Just checking by putting a rod in the cylinder wont tell you TDC. It could be on the exhaust stroke. Meaning cyl 3 is on compression and 4 is up, or something likethat...lol You have to pull the distributor cap and make sure the rotor is...
I Swapped a running 94 ls motor into my civic. Ok so far so good. All the plugs went together and had no problems. Then the car would not start. I started checking grounds, fuel pressure,spark,compression.....all are good. The wiring harness at the strut tower however does not match. The...
