will this be good enough for a reliable rebuild that will last a good 50-75k miles...how will the type-s cams and pistons really affect the performance?

my 93 vtec has 148xxx miles on it and i wanted to rebuild or buy new motor. How reliable would i be to only build top end?
what if i just got type-s cams, pistons and intake manifold...got new springs and retainers and new gaskets..this would be a lot cheaper than a full rebuild...how reliable...

5.if i do this will it be a reliable car? if i were to buy a new motor i would last at least 100k miles. if i change the items listed in the reply from dohcvtec_accord (#1) will the motor hold up for as long?
6.by the way what do you mean "hone the block"? anything done to the block would be...
