I put a zc in my car recently and had problems today. I was pulling out of dairy barn, I get to 3000 rpms, go to shift to second, there was a loud pop and I couldn't put it into gear...Pulled over, put it in gear, let off the clutch and the engine died. Might go with the hybrid...but I still need to get new axles. Dunno if anyone around here can do that anyway. We have like no one around here that can do a decent engine swap, like one place to dyno...it's actually pretty pathetic...trying to get me and my friends to start up a shop...

Using the regular 88 crx si ecu. Check engine light comes on when I rev it to 6000 rpms and it starts acting funny. Gonna take it out to a friend of mine's shop to see if he knows what is wrong with it.

Okay what I thought it was didn't fix it. Sometimes when I start it, I can rev it to 3k without a problem. Other times it acts like a rev limit and won't go past 3000 rpms and starts studdering/sputtering/backfiring everytime you try to go past 3000 rpms. When it does go past 3000 rpms, once it...

It wasn't any "port" on it. I think it was just the gas. Gonna work on it tomorrow and try to fix it. Hopefully that will fix it and I won't have any/many more problems out of it.

I ran into problems with the zc tranny and was going to need new axles. So I just put the old tranny back on and used the reg. axles. My question is which is better, zc or si. A friend that had a zc in his crx said he used his stock tranny and axles because they were better. Just thought I would...

Yeah...I was taking it to a friends so that we could put on an intake and front bumper...I'm not gonna drive it again until I get the stuff to fix it with, and then I will drive to a gas station....but I hope that's it. Might be my ECU? Plan on getting a 89 teg ECU anyway.

Just got the ZC in my car and if I try to rev past 3000 rpms it starts sputtering really bad. Could this be because of water in gas? If so I plan on fixing it sometime tomorrow. Because the gas has been in the car for some time now(over 6 months). I am pretty sure I know how to fix it if that...

Maybe they lied and had more than they said they did? Dunno though. You can't really trust people with what they say is done to their car.

Do you know where a good dohc zc parts web-site is? Most things I find are SOHC VTEC. Can't really find anything for a DOHC ZC.

Know where I can get a ZC intermediate shaft? I have the ZC tranny, so I will have to find those axles and this shaft...Hopeing to have car running before monday.
