Its really not hard to roll back the mileage. Just get something small but strong enough that wont break. If you look at the mileage numbers there are little teeth on the right side. It takes two clicks for a number to fully line up.
I replaced my cluster from a dx to a ex and used a tiny flathead to turn the numbers back. Cluster works and the mileage turns over no problem. Good luck
Where the original oil light switch was. Two of my buddies are using the same gauge and havent had a problem. Also when I had the b18c in the car the problem wasn't there. Kind of why I'm thinking it's the engine.
To help explain my problem I uploaded a video to YouTube because it wouldn't let me upload here.
B16A oil pressure - YouTube
The oil pressure climbs then drops exactly at 3k and stay at 60psi sometimes 65 or 70. I'm using a mechanical oil pressure gauge. The whole time I'm accelerating. Doesn't...
Check residents on the injectors. Also make sure the dizzy was installed properly, my buddy some how managed to put my dizzy on with the the piece the goes into the camshaft clocked 180 degrees, car sounded like backfire but would not start.
UPDATE: Well I finally drop my block of at the machine shop, they said the cylinders are oval and about a thousandths to big :( So I guess im gonna be boring it out to 81.5mm. My questions is will it still be safe for boost, because after dumping this much money into it N\A would just feel like...
From what i read the o2 sensors are actually different and that's what might be trowing the codes. Read this thread. http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2884386
Good luck.
Well i oiled it up in motor oil for the night and took some 800 sand paper to the major rust spots. Next im gonna hone it, hopefully i could salvage it. If not i have a spare b18b i picked up a while ago. Not sure of its Condition though.
The b16 head has better casting so u will have better flow. The b18 is a taller block so u will have more torque. I'm not sure if the forged pistons will fit on the stock b18c rods. Also the b18c uses different rod bearings from all the other b series so it depends on if the ACL bearings are for...
Sounds like something wrong with your motor. Also the 99 manifold will have a big ass vacuum leak on that head There's a way to fix it ill post a link once i find it.
So my buddy picked up a fully rebuilt lsvtec from a friend. The guy rebuilt it more then a year ago and never ran it. Instead he left it in his shed without any spark plugs. My buddy took the head and gave me the complete short block which has all new parts and rusty cylinder walls. Is there any...
Sorry i fell off been kinda busy, so i finally got around to stripping my block. The ring end gap is way out of spec and seems to vary at different parts of the cylinder. Im taking The bare block to the machine shop monday hopefully to have it checked. To me its beginning To look like i will...
